You mentioned to check their insurance which is a good idea, but we have insurance coverage on us as well. I will see if I can find them again. I tried looking under the name before, and couldn't seem to find what I needed. Maybe when I look again, I will find the information, or phone number to call. Just curious for those that may have use an Uber or Lift, would they be about the same price as the Galveston Saltwater Moms? It is their liability insurance for that many that I would be concerned about, not your personal travel insurance.

pmak Posted December 28, 2023 #79 Share Posted December 28, 2023 Hello, we just booked salt water mom's for March. Our price from Hobby airport to port for 4 people is $90 each way. Last year April 2022 we took uber… our uber rate was around $75-$80 each way for 4 people. 3

Doing early research (as our cruise isn't until Dec 2025)....but am concerned about getting from airport to the port/hotel. We would be coming from IAH, which is the airport we have to fly into for a direct flight. Is this still true? If so, where does Uber drop you off or pick you up? Also, we would be arriving the day before. Would they drop off at a hotel instead of the port (not sure if the hotel would be half way between IAH and the port, or near Galveston port)? My post is from 2023; Uber is now licensed and approved to enter the port. Be it Uber, taxi or other private transfer, they will go where you choose; hotel, port, etc.

I guess if you need to make other stops then this service makes sense, but I just looked at Galveston Express - for my dates in Aug/Sept the charge is $120 round trip for 2 (Hobby Airport). For 4 people your way is cheaper - if someone has only 2 then this would be better. https://galvestonexpress.com/
