Sky Princess 9/4/22 - No kids.

No kids (or adults) unless vaccinated…. 
I finally got an answer from Princess tonight to confirm this and as a result I’ve had to cancel 2 cabins. One with a 12 year old and one with 9 year old twins 🙁

I get it’s not Princess’s fault but I had to ask them and was not told  by them of their Policy which I think they should do as a matter of course..!!

Everyone has to be vaccinated here from the US sailings also.  Not a new thing.  All  vaccinated ships have done pretty well containing the virus.  I wouldn’t cruise unless everyone was vaccinated.

When can the children get vaccinated in the UK?  That’s not till September, surely they can get the jabs by then?

No plans to vaccinate under 12s here yet but my grandson has only just had his first jab and can’t have his second in time.

September? Oh, I forgot you do dates the wrong way around stateside. Here 9/4/22 is April 😉😃

We are in the UK and booked a Princess Cruise from Barcelona on 23/7/22.

I booked over the telephone in November and the cruise rep said they were updating their policy in February 2022 and it shouldn’t be a problem. 
It looks like we are in exactly the same position as you and will have to cancel our cruise as our youngest two children are 5 & 8  😞

Oh, no wonder!  Lol  That’s too bad.

We’re soon to vaccinate under 5, in a couple of months.

Sorry, you won’t be able to go.

I don't believe there are many countries that format the date mm/dd/yyyy the way it's done in the US.  Most countries use dd/mm/yyyy and there are a handful that use yyyy/mm/dd

We are due to sail on 9th July from Southampton with our unvaccinated 11yr old. I contacted Princess and they told me to wait until nearer the final payment time (April) as they don’t know what the requirement will be then. I’m hoping maybe the UK government will introduce the vaccine for under 12’s in time for us to go but who knows 🤷🏻‍♀️

This is inaccurate information.  The vaccine is approved for use for 5-11 year olds in some circumstances here in the UK.   It is not available for all 5-11 year olds.

Only for vulnerable 5-11yr olds (health issues etc) not general population of 5-11yr olds, which luckily mine is.

@Ride-The-Waves yes that's the first step its been approved for use but it has not yet been authorised to actually give it to under 12's  except if they are in a vulnerable category.

 

So yes its approved but nobody can get it because the NHS will not give it to under 12's unless they meet the vulnerable category conditions.

With 12 weeks between vaccines and the second having to be done 2 weeks prior to the cruise the timelines wouldn’t work for my trip in April in any case.

Even USA passports and Customs forms use the dd/mm/yyyy format.

How is everyone getting their LFT tests done? We are having them done locally before we get to Southampton, just in case we test positive and have to come back home? Save the taxi fare too!
