neverlaysup Posted February 6, 2022 #1 Share Posted February 6, 2022 (edited) Quick question- My wife and I have been visiting family here in Florida and I need to drop off a rental car in Miami on Saturday before departing on Apex. Can I drop my wife and luggage at the port around 10 and let here proceed to the Retreat waiting area while I finish the drive to Miami and return via Uber? Curious as to if they would let her check in by herself and maybe potentially board while I drop off car? canderson Posted February 6, 2022 #2 Share Posted February 6, 2022 Yes, she can board without you, but at 10am, she's going to be waiting for a good while, even with suite check-in.

I figured she may have to wait an hour or so, but at least it will be comfortable. Just trying to save her the commute back and forth if she wasn’t up for it. Thank you. jelayne Posted February 6, 2022 #6 Share Posted February 6, 2022 Not too long ago they were requiring all members of a traveling party to all be present for check-in. I don’t know if that has changed.
mamaday Posted February 6, 2022 #7 Share Posted February 6, 2022 Check in started at 10:30 for the Silhouett on 1/24. Doors to board opened around 1045-1100.

Yeah, we had a 10:30 check in for Apex last month and we on board by 11am. That was in AQ versus Retreat for this cruise.
miched Posted February 6, 2022 #9 Share Posted February 6, 2022 By check in starting that means that the doors are open to get into the terminal. If you get there a hour early you will be standing outside in the elements. There are no seating areas. Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅
Silvery Seas Cruiser Posted February 7, 2022 #10 Share Posted February 7, 2022 As I recall, when we sailed on Apex in December there were one or two benches near the check in door. They were occupied. However as you are dropping your wife off early, she might be fortunate enough to get a seat on one of those benches.
