Taxis inside or outside the port???

We're going to Costa Maya soon and want to go to Krazy Lobster. We were there in October and rented a golf cart.

This time we only want to go to the beach, grab a lobster lunch and a massage, so a taxi is cheaper.

However, the last time the taxis were outside the port gates and my mom surely can't walk that far. Can someone confirm that the taxis are inside the gates now??

Yes taxis are at both inside and outside the port.

They are inside the port BUT just inside, not much less distance to walk. Probably the same area you rented the golf cart.

I was also curious about that.  Is the taxi to Krazy Lobster the same price if you get one inside the port or outside the port?

I doubt many people have done both since taxi prices increased. Most people are probably relieved to reach the taxis after negotiating the port.

This week (2/10/2022) the taxis inside the port were $4 per person to go to downtown Mahahual or to the beach, the same price as outside the port.

 

As noted above, the taxis are just barely inside the port and it is a long walk to get to them.

 

It is an especially long walk at this port because it appears designed on purpose to be a long confusing maze through hundreds of stores and Disney-style animal kingdom attractions. The ship excursion transportation center, on the other hand, is pretty simple to reach.

ETA that was $7 total for a taxi for two people. $8 out - and $7 back!

Other than possibly the price - any differences between the taxis inside the port area and those outside?

Are "inside" ones vetted?
