The Orange Route ferry between Dockyard and St. George's will be returning. Reading through an article in Bernews I noticed it is budgeted for 2022-2023.

“To support the movement of cruise passengers between Dockyard and St. George, the Ministry has budgeted for the Orange Route ferry for 2022-23. The Orange Route provides crucial connectivity between cruise ship passengers “where it all began” in St. George, allowing economic benefits for businesses, and cruise ship passengers alike to enjoy restaurants, souvenir shops, and attractions in the area."

The schedule has not been released yet. It tends to be published in mid-April. Stay tuned.

I definitely hope the route is reinstated.  I prefer cruises that dock in both Hamilton and St. George's however, this year no such luck, only King's Wharf.

Cruising to Bermuda mid June. We've taken 50+ cruises but never to Bermuda.

Is there a fee for the Ferry?

The public ferry as well as the buses cost $5 per person cash fare or you can buy tokens for $4.50 each. In addition there are one day unlimited bus and ferry passes for $19 per person, two day $31.50 per person, and longer term passes are available. There are also ticket books available but in recent years they haven't been sold at the Royal Naval Dockyard, which is where the vast majority of ships dock.

There are lower fares for children ages 5 to 16 and children under 5 ride free.

Here's a web page with the details: https://www.gov.bm/bus-fares . Note that certain shorter bus rides are called 3 zone routes and have a lower fare.

In addition to the public ferries and buses, NCL in the past has run a private ferry free of charge between the Dockyard and St. George for its passengers only. That ferry is expected to resume service shortly.

I recall that a few years ago they did sell passes on board, but I think they may have discontinued selling them.

They should be available at the Dockyard when you arrive.
