zqtchas Posted June 2, 2022 #401 Share Posted June 2, 2022 There was a small resupply today. It’s so bad that they run out of HH snacks. Many new passengers like the ones who left. Hate masks, cut in front of you, hate to dress nice, come in the back door and seat themselves ( in Atlantide).

Sounds like some remedial manners training may be necessary, especially in light of Covid cases on the Moon increasing by roughly 20%+ each day.
Rare mysty Posted June 3, 2022 Author #405 Share Posted June 3, 2022 Yesterday we left the ship around 12:30 pm to board buses for the Grand Northern Europe event. We rode to Husavik. There we put on wind suits (like kids' one piece snow suits) and boarded open air sailing boats for an almost 2 hour sail to Flately Island in Skjalfandi Bay. This small island used to be home to about 200 people until 1967. Now only 6 people live there year sound. There are some summer homes, a church, a school from 1929 and a lighthouse. Pics from the sail to Flatey and our very first whale sighting..... Pics from Flatey Island..... Pics from our delicious late lunch (fish soup, lamb and chocolate mousse).... It was a wonderful day! 10
Rare mysty Posted June 3, 2022 Author #406 Share Posted June 3, 2022 Today we are docked in Husavik. Grey and rainy. No excursion booked. Quiet "sea" day for us.
Rare jpalbny Posted June 3, 2022 #407 Share Posted June 3, 2022 (edited) Husavik has a whale museum and an ethnographic museum. Both small and worth a quick visit. Easy walk from the pier. If you end up wanting to do something other than stay on board! Edited June 3, 2022 by jpalbny

Thank you Mysty and all contributors for your wonderful travelogue! This allows me to continue the journey in a way, I was on board from Southampton to Reykjavik. Looking forward to reading about more of your impressions😊
zqtchas Posted June 3, 2022 #409 Share Posted June 3, 2022 Today’s numbers: 22 pax -18 crew. Service slow but sure. Staff is hanging in there. Rommel is doing a great job of keeping things going in Atlantide. I would hate to have his job. Lots of on the intercom moving people around. 1

Rare mysty Posted June 4, 2022 Author #412 Share Posted June 4, 2022 Today is a deja vu port for us. We are docked in Seydisfjordur which we visited on the segment that began in Southampton. Sunny but chilly. We'll likely stay on the ship and sea-day it.
zqtchas Posted June 4, 2022 #413 Share Posted June 4, 2022 Well! We’re going to take the walking tour that Ms Mysty took the first time around. Checked out breakfast, still no maple syrup. Guess it’ll have to wait till they cruise by New England. With spring here now it should be dripping down the tree.
Grand Duchess Posted June 4, 2022 #414 Share Posted June 4, 2022 I wonder whether tomato juice is still not to be had anywhere? Very puzzling, since more exotic stuff like cherry juice was on. Still, just a minor issue, other than those inveterate people wearing no masks, I am rather concerned about those idiots😳

The syrup they served us tasted like molasses. No maple flavor at all. DH liked it but not me. 1

Mask is mandatory in Venetian Lounge, in tour bus, in tender and at muster drill. Mostly policed. However, not always.

It's more than any other country on the voyage. 18 days from the time you left Stornoway until you reach Norway with a couple of stops in Denmark's Faroe Islands. That's a lot of peaceful solitude!
