Irish110 Posted March 23, 2022 #1 Share Posted March 23, 2022 Do US citizens need a Covid test to return to the US from the Caribbean? We are taking a roundtrip cruise out of Fort Lauderdale and was wondering if we need to test to get back into the US? If so, will Celebrity provide the test onboard? Rare Turtles06 Posted March 23, 2022 #2 Share Posted March 23, 2022 Tests are needed to return to the U.S. by air, not sea. Easy to find the U.S. gov requirements on line: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/travelers/testing-international-air-travelers.html
leaveitallbehind Posted March 23, 2022 #3 Share Posted March 23, 2022 (edited) No - one is not needed if cruising. Only the pre-board rapid test. Edited March 23, 2022 by leaveitallbehind

A suggestion or two - give all the details. Is your cruise tomorrow or two years from now. Lets people give better answers. Second, suggest doing two searches - a simple internet search would answer about 1/3 of OP questions. The second search is search Cruise Critic. At one point there were three separate threads on various port status at the same time. Maybe, look back a couple pages. 1
NCHPcruiser Posted March 23, 2022 #5 Share Posted March 23, 2022 Currently, no return test is required.

What would get posted on CC if everyone did that? 1

If one were in conversation and gave the answer "Google is your friend," then one should expect what likely would follow. Guppy99 Posted March 24, 2022 #8 Share Posted March 24, 2022 One big difference. Here, you're getting answers with no idea how accurate they may be. If you look at credible online sources, you are more likely to get an answer that you can rely on.

Identifying the credible ones can be tough and many put Cruise Critic in the credible category. many thought this was and is credible https://zapatopi.net/treeoctopus/

I agree that it's a good idea to search. However, it's also a very good idea to ask here because the right answer will come out to the extent one exists. The very first reply both answered OP's question and pointed OP to the primary source. I cannot think of a better result.
Irish110 Posted March 28, 2022 Author #11 Share Posted March 28, 2022 Thank you all for your responses. I do try to search on CC before posting my questions. I just wanted to confirm that no testing was needed. Thanks again.

It is NOT a credible source for the sort of information the poster is asking for. it is a good source to get links to actual credible sources of information. Now, if you want to know what's on the menu? This is a great place to get that info and who cares if it's eight or not. It's not critical. Testing however requirements are.
