LIVE from the Grand Princess: RT LA to Hawaii 4/4/22 - 4/19/22

I got some work done yesterday. The weather has not been great so I might as well get stuff done so I’m not swamped when I return. 
 

Our final CG dinner of this cruise was last night. 10 out of 10 forks as always.

Love this performer! Crooners is packed each night he plays.

It was too cool and cloudy to be by the pool so we stayed inside and listened to music, watched 
movies and milled around. Dinner was Italian Night. The food was good overall.;

 

 

Eggplant Parmigiana 8/10 forks;

 

Stuffed Chicken 8/10 forks;

 

 

 

Lemon Meringue Cheesecake 9/10 forks.;

Crooners was crowded. The piano players there are quite good. We sat and listened for a while until it was time to go to the show. We think the computer got stuck in an ordering loop because they kept bringing my Brother chocolate martinis! He only ordered one.;

The show Stardust is not my fav. The singers and dancers were good but I’m not crazy about getting song choice and lack of any plot. It’s basically a medley of songs.

Glad to see the guy on the right.  He was "absent" (MIA) during the cruise before yours.

Were there no servers in Crooners ?  I don’t understand ordering via an app when you are already on a bar

There are servers but for some reason after the server scanned my brothers medallion, they kept bringing drinks to him.

Maybe he had Covid like the Cruise Director has right now, on the Grand  I was told .  That’s why we haven’t seen him since about the 2nd day.  He’s not been missed, the Entertainment Director is great.  Of course No announcement.

Actually, the entertainment director announced why he had replaced the cruise director, ( Steve) as he was sick) this was announced at the showtime presentation the first day Steve was placed in quarantine.

A few things to point out:

 

1. Keep track of your account. I noticed that they did not credit my account for all of my pre-paid excursions. Luckily I had a print out of my travel documents and could prove that I paid for all of them up front. They credited my account after I pointed out the error. 

 

2. The Events section of the App is not working for us so we can’t see future days’ events. I can see todays Patter on the online Ocean  Concierge Page, but it only shows the current day, not upcoming days.  I wish I had taken some screen shots of the days events were planned that I wanted to attend.

 

3. I cannot view prebooked restaurant times on the App. Luckily I took screenshots of those and also entered the reservations on my calendar. 
 

Princess really needs to fix the App. It’s a piece of …💩.

We had zero issues with Royal’s (RCCL/RCI) App. Perhaps they can hire better IT folks.

Once the Medallion people (near the VIsta Lounge) placed the Ocean Concierge app on my device, there was a great improvement to functionality.  

 

OBC for excursions is refundable...yay

 

I am in agreement with you that the app is pretty much worthless.  Sorry you didn't win the raffle.  I should have sent you the carat total for the ruby ring; that I have since forgotten.
