Navigator of the Seas - October 21, 2022 Sailing

Hello,

 

My husband and i received and email yesterday from Royal Caribbean stating that they had to cancel our October 21, 2022 sailing on the Navigator of the Seas sailing, as it has been chartered.  We were given three options.  Option 1 is to re-book on a choice of 5 7-night itineraries onboard the Navigator of the Seas.  Option 2 is to rebook any other Royal Caribbean International sailing.  Option 3 is to cancel and to receive a full refund of our paid fare.

 

When we called Royal Caribbean, the agents didn't really seem to know what is going on. One of the agents said that they thought that the ship was going on drydock.  Our friends are also booked on the same cruise.  They have not received the email saying that their cruise has been cancelled.  We find it hard to believe that one whole ship of that size would be chartered by one group.

 

Have any of you received a similar email?  Does anyone know what is going on with  the Navigator of the Seas October 22, 2022 sailing?  Your help is appreciated

Might take till next week and the info filters down to them to know what to do. Was there a default action and date provided?

 

O class ships get chartered fairly often - something the size of Navigator is no big deal.

Do option 1 and 2 include price protection? What kind of cabin do you have booked?

We received the email also.  After waiting on hold for 2 hours, we were able to rebook a different cruise on the Symphony.

It took 45 min  for agent to confirm cruise cancellation and 2 more hours to rebook on Feb 10  cruise. Very few choices for oceanview cabins.

Thank you all for the information.  We have decided to cancel and get our money back.  We are already booked on the Allure in August.  The reason that we were doing this cruise is because our friends wanted to cruise with us and they are not able to fly.  They have yet to receive the email saying that their cruise is cancelled.  We are disappointed that it is so hard to get any information from Royal Caribbean.
