B2B Procedure Questions

@Tradestock They ask that you call 1-800-764-7419 to be listed as a B2B guest. They will Covid test free on the penultimate day of the first cruise. The B2B process is the same on ships; however, may vary as to free mimosas between cruises and/or a token gift such as fruit basket, drink coupon, or bottle of wine.

Thank you both for your helpful replies.  I did not know to call Carnival, so will get on the phone Monday morning.

Yep, the cruises need to be linked as B2B.  Also, it's a great idea when onboard to casually inquire when there's no line at Guest Services.  If the onboard records are good, you're golden.

Do note that you do need to treat them as separate cruises for purposes of check-in, health assessment, onboard purchases, etc. in the 2 weeks leading up.  It felt a little weird to be selecting a boarding time-slot for cruise #2 that I would never use.  My PVP told me 'Don't sweat it. I know it's weird but we have goofy computers.  You're good!'

We are scheduled for a B2B later this year.  Do we have to clear customs at the dock from the first leg and re-board the ship for the second leg?  Or, can we remain on the ship stewing in a hot tub?

It takes about 20 minutes to be escorted off and back on, youll be in the hot tub in no time. Don't miss your B2B complimentary drinks in the atrium when you get back on board, drink as many as you like. You can also leave the ship and go into your port city if you like ( after reboarding ). A letter will be left near the end of  the first cruise explaining the B2B procedure. If covid tests are still required Carnival will notify when and where. You can find the B2B procedures on line.

It would be nice if they do this for a side by side cruise. I am getting off the Splendor in Seattle and getting onto the Spirit right next to it next month.

Carnival recently changed their protocol to make Covid testing for B2B at the discretion of the ship's senior medical officer.

I wasn't aware they've changed this. We're on Valor B2B 7/25-8/4. Are you saying they may not provide the test or may waive the requirement for a negative test before the second leg?

They have been doing the free test between SxS cruises if both were Carnival ships. Yeah, no free drinks or token gifts though. We did consecutive 7 days on Valor/Glory several years ago, which I considered B2B but recently learned others call these SxS.

Did our first B2B in February, I asked a lot of questions here beforehand.

First we went to guest services to make sure we were listed as being on a B2B.

The day before the end of the first cruise we were given a time to report to the room where the comedy shows are held to be tested for COVID. This info was on the paperwork we received in our cabin. We were surprised at the number of people there, about 50. Took us about 30 minutes wait to get the test done, another 15 to get results.

Last day of cruise we went to one of the dining rooms and waited about an hour, then were taken off the ship and led to an area in the terminal. Again we waited and waited and waited - everyone has to be off the ship first - then two customs agents came in, checked our passports, then we were led back on the ship. That was it. The crew member who had led us off the ship just walked off, no acknowledgement at all. We all just looked at each other, shrugged our shoulders and walked away.

I was disappointed we didn't even get so much as a mimosa. People said they got those, and a gift, and a fruit basket and a bottle of champagne in their cabin. Other people said it's up the the hotel direction on each cruise as to what you get. We were on the Breeze. Maybe there were too many of us.

It all went pretty smoothly.

Thank you to everyone for your replies.  We called Carnival at lunchtime and had everything linked within 10 minutes.  Just as an FYI, the hold times on the telephone seem to be greatly improved from earlier this year.  Once on board, we will check in with guest services.
