Anyone on a ship right now?

If you are booking a future cruise, could you please check out a rule for me.

We were told that when you get home from a cruise, you have up to 30 days to book a cruise and get the benefits of booking on board

Can anyone confirm that and get it in writing?

I tried to book a cruise using that rule and no one at O reservations seem to know about it, I suggested they contact sales on one of their ships.

in this release it says "or within 30 days of coming home"

this was tough to find....hope it can help someone else as well....

the O agent I spoke to this morning to book a cruise, has sent all my research to head office for approval...shouldnt have to do that...they should know their policies...

we got all this information on the ship, Riviera,  on March 28, came home on April 4, Rosana was the sales rep, very knowledgeable....she confirmed that this was the case and to use the future certificates to book the new itins that come out on May 4....

thanks to all that were helpful in this search....

The notice I read referred to the 30 days prior to cruising. I didn’t see any other mention of 30 days after disembarkation. Did I miss it?

I found the relevant passage when reading the other thread.
Still think you should “delegate” this to your TA!

OOPS! Just reread you post and realized that you didn’t actually book onboard! Why the hell not??? I’ve never seen in writing what you claim about post-cruise booking option. I do know, for a fact, thst if you booked a cruise within a month of embarkation, you can rebook it once onboard  (or if a TA is in the mix, s/he can handle it).

So, you really may be S.O.L.. But nonetheless, for readers of this thread who may be thinking about a book onboard (to get the discount plus extra SBC plus price drop match guarantee [if your cabin category still has availability], etc.), here’s the straight scoop:

if you did a book onboard, the ambassador’s name would appear on your original invoice. You would have received a letter from that ambassador explaining what to do next.

It used to be that the instructions said to write an email to something like reservations-supervisor@oceaniacruises.com (not sure of exact address) stating the transfer with TA contact info AND I would send a copy of  my  invoice to the chosen transfer TA for them to contact their own O rep to confirm the transfer.

The official process has changed to where you are supposed to just have the TA connect with their O person. But, I still call/write the O phone rep I sometimes use (if I didn’t do the transfer onboard and walked away with the adjusted O invoice) and copy him (the O rep) on an email to that TA saying I officially transfer the booking (with the condition that any extra deal the TA and I have set for added perks are honored).

I then ask for/receive a new O invoice from the TA showing the booking assignment to the TA and I also receive the TA invoice showing the added perks.

ALWAY have an absolutely clear and unbroken paper trail.
BTW, I don’t doubt that some newer O phone reps are unaware of the process because, in the old process, you informed a supervisor and your TA informed their contact. Even now, the new normal transfer doesn’t usually involve an O phone rep. In my case, it just happens thst I know someone who will “bird dog” stuff at O for me.

So, bottom line: If you’re still within the 30 day window, contact the desired TA immediately (along with a written email saying you transfer the cruise and expect them to handle it within the specified window (also mention the added TA perks)) and follow any other instructions you received from the onboard o club ambassador.

FWIW: we do this a lot!

We didnt book on board. Bought 3 future cruise certificates to use when the new itins come out. And had the 30 rule to book at home with the perks of booking on board.

I will print the "enhancements"  and post it on my wall, should O forget their own policies. Unless of course they have cancelled all these enhancements and have not notified their sales reps on all the ships. 🥴
