How quick from EWR to Port Liberty?

We're doing what everyone recommends not doing (our first time in thirty cruises) and not staying overnight in New Jersey for a Port Liberty cruise. How quickly can we get from EWR to Port Liberty on Monday morning?  We arrive around 10 AM. 

 

Also, I imagine UBER is preferred but I have heard about the frequency of getting canceled out. We are hoping to make it to the dock by 11:30. Any wisdom?

Less than 15 miles from EWR to Cape Liberty,  you should be fine with 90 minute travel allowance.

And please tell Uber, the taxi driver or the car service you use that you're going to Cape Liberty, not Port Liberty. There is an area of nearby Jersey City called Port Liberte and you could end up being driven there if you give the wrong name.

I usually allow 90  minutes for my luggage to arrive at EWR. 😄
