I too will be waiting to see if they serve Boddingtons on board as we are taking my dad on his first cruise and that's his drink. I enquired with Celebrity and they said I will have to wait until European sailings to start as they don't require it for any other part of the world.

Hi Mcrlyons

In that case they shouldn’t include the drinks on the Classic list if they have no intention of stocking them.

Where they listed on cruises from the US during the last 6 months?
I haven’t seen the list change for USA or Europe in years.

Hope your dad gets his drink,,it makes the cruise much more enjoyable.

I know things change.  Before the shutdown, I was able to enjoy Boddingtons on our annual January Caribbean cruises.  (Not every bar location).  So there is hope, just make sure to check different locations.

I will keep my fingers crossed for this and check each bar for my dad 😁

Lovely meal at Murano Last night and we were greeted like a long lost friend by Petar the Maître d’hotel in charge of all the specialities. The food as always was excellent even if the table side flambé reminds me of going to restaurants with my parents in the 70s. I never seem to be surprised by the miniature Salt and pepper.

The only slight miss was the desert. I had ordered the chocolate soufflé and my Gastrognome the Grand Marnier soufflé, but to our surprise two Grand Marnier ones arrived. Unfortunately the waiter insisted in correcting the mistake by taking away my one and not returning with the chocolate one for over ten minutes. This left us with the quandary of either my Gastrognome letting hers go cold or eating our deserts in shifts. Not ideal and in hindsight I should have not said anything and we could have eaten our deserts together. The cheese was as always the best on the ship.

That 70s feeling. Exactly what we thought when we first dined in Murano. Have grown to love it, especially the cheese. You should have eaten the first Souffle whilst you waited for them to make the chocolate one 🤣

....... We accompanied this with coffee from the excellent Lavazza coffee machine that Nelson had brought for us yesterday. I don’t know whether these are actually standard issue in a Royal suite but last year we had one in a Penthouse in August and in a Royal suite in October but not in the royal suite we had in July so I think there aren’t that many on board and Nelson was being very good to us. .....

We had one in our penthouse this past March and loved it so much we ordered one upon returning home!  Now we enjoy both an espresso and a cruise memory almost every day!!!

Yesterday evening before dinner I made myself an Alabazam ( cognac, Cointreau, angostura and  lemon ) and my Gastrognome a brandy and soda to accompany the again huge shrimp and cheese plates that Nelson brings. I will try to remember to ask him for something smaller today.

We then went down the Retreat Lounge where Ananas had managed to procure a bottle of Amaro Nonino Quesenta, the missing ingredient for a paper plane and made a perfect one for me. In a Riedel martini glass . Near perfection.

For Dinner last night we chose the Lawn Club Grill and while a little chill the food was excellent

On returning to The Retreat Ananas made me an Umit’s More Amaro (Amaro Nonin, Cynar, Campari and a little lemon juice…. Perfection. We spent a very pleasant time chatting to Paul and Julian Burton and my glass magically kept refilling itself …. Managed to achieve an earlyish night in anticipation of a 4.45 sunrise and sail in

@Redking The Lillet Rose and Blanc I brought on as my 2 bottles of wine, I also brought a bottle of Angostura bitters and a small bottle of sugar syrup. I requested a bottle of cognac and a bottle of Cointreau. I also asked for Oranges and lemons along with a suitable knife to cut them with. We also have Champagne, Coke Zero, Club soda and Red stripe in the fridge

The Boston shaker, Hawthorn strainer, sieve, jigger, citrus press, peeler and NaCl I keep in my travel bar roll. bringing ones own bar tools might seem a bit odd but I enjoy making a quick drink in the room to have while we dress for the evening. Technically the Lillet is an aromatised wine but I reckon it counts as the two bottles of wine we are allowed in the room.

With everything I have I can  make a Brandy and soda, Lillet and soda, s side car ( cognac, Cointreau and lemon juice), an Alabazam (similar to a side car but with less Cointreau and lemon but the addition of 10ml of angostura and 5ml of sugar), brandy and coke, a mimosa, a champagne cocktail (champagne, cognac, bitters and sugar) or just a Cointreau over ice. So my in suite bar menu is quite extensive. 😎

This is so brilliant! Next cruise I’m going to bring my own vermouths and bar tools!

enjoyed reading your review very much! Thank you for posting!

A quick question. We are on the next cruise and on both the App and the website our first stop Bergen has disappeared and now shows as a sea day making 2 in total. Would you please check if this is a blip or is true. Many thanks.

I'm assuming from this that you're on Silhouette from 7th to 14th May? If so, so are we!! I'm looking at the App now and Bergen is still listed as day 3. We're booked in Murano on 10th May as it's my birthday, so it's very useful seeing the menu.

Happy Birthday for the 10th.

Yes we are sharing your cruise. For the last couple of days a number of passengers have been reporting that the app and website shows Bergen as being changed to a  sea day. I was hoping that someone on the current cruise would check and confirm that this is an error.

Best of luck with your Covid test tomorrow. Geoff and the boss (Anita).

Thanks. We.re getting our Antigen tests done on Friday at a cheaper rate than Celebrity are charging at the port. We've both recovered from Covid and have recovery certificates, but Celebrity say we still need to be tested, this despite Royal Caribbean saying it can be used in lieu of testing because you can test positive up to 90 days afterwards. I've checked the cruise schedule for the port of Bergenand it shows Silhouette in port on that day.

I did the same, I'm sure it's a glitch on the App which was poor on both our cruises last year. Didn't know X was doing testing at Southampton but we won't leave home without a negative test result in our hands.

As long as you have a copy of your PCR positive test and letter of recovery you don’t need to test to board

Yesterday we decided, having seen the crowds in the buffet, to have lunch on the retreat sundeck. A perfect place for a late lunch while watching scenery. I followed this with an afternoon lounging on our balcony in the hot tub watching the skylift go up and down.

We ended up dining in the Lawn Club again last night and it was perfect. The food as always was good but the view as we sailed out was amazing. The sail out of the fjords from Loen is about 5 hours. We headed to bed quite early and watched the sun set at around 10pm
