Off Mariner Saturday…

Recommended Posts

No covid, great short 5 night cruise for the Wife’s birthday.  Great bar service…food in the buffet was not up to my expectations, the buffet was lacking in my opinion...did not eat in MDR.. Playmakers food was on point..pizza was fine. Room service breakfast 3 days was on point.

Mainly I sail Celebrity…but will take a Royal when it fits for things like this..plus I can drive easier to Canaveral.

I do like the layout of the Mariner..lots of places to get outside the ship..especially the bow. Helipad, over the bridge etc..

Spacious ocean balcony was nice..Elroy our room steward was great.

Captain Tobias seems great, we had a medical emergency on board, had to full speed back to Canaveral the last night for a patient, we arrived about 3 hours early, and probably used a good bit more fuel, nice to know they will do that for a passenger.

Embarkation and disembarking were maybe the easiest I have in my last cruises..well done. Walked out of the room at 7:05 am, out of the parking deck at 7:30.

On a side, Freedom was beside us on Monday the day we embarked, my Wife and I both thought she was showing a lot of rust…so glad everyone that boarded her are safe.

Was on same cruise. It was great. Hit it big in the casino and at the Bars. Ha! I believe the ship next to us in PC was the Carnival Freedom, not RCCL Freedom of the Seas. 🙂 Probably explains the rust.

We were on the same cruise.  A shorter cruise than we usually do, but really enjoyed it!  We've only been on Oasis or Quantum class before.  Mariner's style was a bit dated, but it was in great shape and we had great service throughout.  It was a fun itinerary.  I am getting hip replacement in June, so I just relaxed and enjoyed the views and perfect weather.  We were in a suite and the suite lounge was lovely with wonderful views.  Well stocked with snacks and great happy hour drink service. We enjoyed the dining room.  Windjammer was okay.  Playmakers had great food with large portions. The casino slots were tight, but I still gave it my best try to get ahead.  The only real negative was the voom surf and stream, which was totally down a good portion of the cruise and was only usable for email at best.
