Anchorage is probably the best place if you want Covid test. Whittier terminal is very small. I don’t see any Covid test available inside terminal. There is a testing facility - outside the front door of the Whittier Terminal.

Thanks I don't have one of the small white trailer but this is the signage in Whittier. It was located directly outside the terminal to the right of the entrance. Rare dhanakorn Posted June 26, 2022 Author #154 Share Posted June 26, 2022 Day 7 College Fjord (1) Today was the last day of the cruise. We wouldn’t get to the College Fjord until later in the evening. I took a leisure time in the morning and didn’t get out of bed until almost 9am. When I booked this Alaska trip, I thought it’s gonna a mellowed down and relaxing cruise. But every day was jam-packed with so many things to do from early morning until late night. I was exhausted. Breakfast from the buffet. They had avocado smoothie today. Smoked salmon is available everyday but no egg benedict (you need to go to MDR for egg benedict). I ordered omelette once but wasn’t impressed so I didn’t try again. Today the coffee bar wasn’t so busy they made some latte art on the milk foam for me. Then I went to culinary demonstration show in the theater. This’s kind of Princess tradition on the last day of the cruise. The casino layout is slightly different from Majestic ship with the stairs going down in middle of the room.
Rare dhanakorn Posted June 26, 2022 Author #155 Share Posted June 26, 2022 Day 7 College Fjord (2) Around noon there’s ice carving demonstration on the pool deck. It’s the bald eagle sculpture A couple shots of the seawalk. We had a nice sunny day again. Lunch from the buffet. Grilled salmon was pretty good. Watermelon and pineapple were ripe and sweet. I’m amazed with so much variety of asian condiments on this ship. The sweet chili sauce (red on the right) goes well with fried or grilled chicken. Rare dhanakorn Posted June 26, 2022 Author #156 Share Posted June 26, 2022 Day 7 College Fjord (3) Around 2:30pm, there’s a small boat approaching us. This boat dropped off the pilot to help navigate us through the Prince William Sound. We’re entering the Prince William Sound. The scenery in Prince William Sound is no less beautiful than the Glacier Bay.
Rare dhanakorn Posted June 26, 2022 Author #157 Share Posted June 26, 2022 Day 7 College Fjord (4) We sailed passed one of the glacier in College Fjord. Crooners bar had glacier ice again this afternoon. Don’t forget to try it on the Alaska cruise. They don’t charge extra for the glacier ice. A drink with a view. We’re approaching the highlight of College Fjord. Harvard Glacier - the star of College Fjord. There’re many glaciers around here named after famous colleges on the east coast. Harvard Glacier on the left and Yale Glacier on the right.
Rare dhanakorn Posted June 26, 2022 Author #158 Share Posted June 26, 2022 Day 7 College Fjord (5) Then I came down to watch the glaciers from my balcony. The ship stayed here for quite a while. I shouldn’t have wasted my time going out to deck 7 or the pool deck. I had the best view from my balcony. I was on starboard side and we had the perfect view of the glaciers. Rare dhanakorn Posted June 26, 2022 Author #159 Share Posted June 26, 2022 Day 7 College Fjord (6) Now it’s almost 7:30pm. Long daylight hours in Alaska makes you lose track of time. I wasn’t quite hungry yet so I went to the early show in the theater. Tonight we had Nathan Phan - a comedian, a singer, and a magician all in one. I’ve seen his show before on Majestic but still enjoy his performance tonight. After the show I went down to Allegro MDR for my last dinner on this cruise. It’s already 8:30pm but still bright outside. Tonight menu I got Alaskan fish soup, calamari, and watermelon salad for starter. Alaskan crab risotto for the main dish. Risotto was pretty good but they skimped on the crab meat. Dessert menu I had late dinner in MDR so I missed the parade. Princess has a tradition of serving Baked Alaska on the last night of the cruise. I just started cruising with Princess this year. There’re many Princess traditions that I learned from the cruise. Usually on the last night in MDR around 7pm, the maitre d’ will give a short speech thanking everyone, then the room will be dimmed and a parade of servers carrying Baked Alaska with candlelight will walk around the room. Everyone is clapping and waving handkerchief. I think it’s a very nice way to say goodbye on the last night of the cruise. We don’t have this on NCL ships. I missed the parade on this cruise but I have some photos to share from my Majestic cruise last February. The parade of Baked Alaska with candlelight. After the parade, they cut the Baked Alaska and serve you for dessert.
Rare dhanakorn Posted June 26, 2022 Author #160 Share Posted June 26, 2022 Day 7 College Fjord (7) After dinner, I went to Wheelhouse bar for a drink. The signature drink here is Bushmills Irish Buck. Then I went to Crooners bar for a couple more drinks while Kory was entertaining us. The drink package is killing my liver. I already packed my luggage in the afternoon so I don’t need to rush in the evening. I like when the last day of the cruise is a sea day. Sunset view from my balcony around 10:30pm. We’re approaching Whittier around 11:30pm. We docked at the terminal around midnight. While the cruise part ended here, my trip hasn’t finished quite yet. I’m planning on two more installments - Whittier/26-Glacier-excursion and Anchorage/Potage-bay. I hope you will continue with me on the journey. 4
