MrsKMB Posted June 6, 2022 #2 Share Posted June 6, 2022 (edited) This is a great explanation about PCR tests: https://my.clevelandclinic.org/health/diagnostics/21462-covid-19-and-pcr-testing The PCR test is not related to the vaccine, but tests to see if you have COVID at that point in time. A negative viral test is required for travel. Edited June 6, 2022 by MrsKMB Clarification

For additional clarity, from the RCCL website: Accepted Types of Tests and Results There are two common types of diagnostic COVID-19 tests A molecular test, also called a PCR test or NAAT test – our testing requirements call this a “PCR test” An antigen test, also called a rapid antigen test – our testing requirements call this an “antigen test" In our area, CVS used to, but no longer does offer the rapid antigen test but Walgreens offers the rapid NAAT test at no charge, which we use. This is most easily typically offered by Walgreens at no charge with results provided usually within an hour of the test. And BTW a negative PCR test has nothing to due with covid shots as indicated in your thread title. It is one of several accepted tests indicating whether someone has or does not have covid.
