darnoc23 Posted June 7, 2022 #1 Share Posted June 7, 2022 Hello, I was curious if it's cheaper to add the Princess Plus package after a standard booking? From my past two cruises, I realized that it came out cheaper than if I originally purchased it at time of booking. Not sure if it was just timing of a special going on, but I had to pay just $200 difference for the entire booking to upgrade to Princess Plus vs an additional $300 per person at time of booking. Any insights?
wowzz Posted June 7, 2022 #2 Share Posted June 7, 2022 My understanding is that PP is a fixed pppd price, so it makes no difference when you book it.

Any insights? My guess is the price of your cruise went down which is why you saw a smaller difference between the price you booked at and the current Plus price and so you were able to re-price your cruise to include Princess Plus at a cheaper price than originally. Fares go up and down based on supply and demand. My cruise coming up this month, I have re-priced four times because the price kept going down. My cruise last February only went up (significantly) after I booked the cruise.

So if the price goes down on the same category, you can request for an adjustment?

Yes but there have been times when I would have lost some perks if I refared from an earlier promotion
GottaLuvCruising Posted June 8, 2022 #7 Share Posted June 8, 2022 For our January / Panama Canal cruise, Princess Plus was an additional $40pp/pd when we booked. It is now an additional $50pp/pd.

triple7tahoe Posted June 8, 2022 #10 Share Posted June 8, 2022 Many of our cruises were/are Casino "free" cruises and do not include the drink package. When we book those, all added costs i.e. upgrades; EZAir; drink packages need to be paid upfront. Some of those cruises were over 6 months out so we did not add the drink package until about a month before sailing. We did add the drink package for a November sailing just before the price increase to get it for $40 a day. In all other cases I found it easy (if I had the time to wait on the phone) and got to keep my money just a little longer 🙂
dog Posted June 8, 2022 #11 Share Posted June 8, 2022 Sometimes when you refare- they have you cancel & rebook- so know what you are saving or losing if this is the case.
