Is RoyalUp only for direct bookings?

I was reading the fine print in my cruise contract and ran across this: " .

Bid to Upgrade: XXXXXX ( Big box TA)  does not participate in cruise line bid-based stateroom upgrade programs.

So, am I out of luck trying for an upgrade?

Hi @Bxc53, for your big box TA booking, they do not participate and have opted out of the RoyalUp program so you will not be able to participate, but if you see a drop in higher categories you could ‘upgrade’ that why. 
 

Your thread title answer is NO, RoyalUp is open to TA bookings if they have opted into the program. There have been previous threads your big box TA and others have opted out of RoyalUp and you cannot participate.

I used a TA and just won a bid, but have booked Costco many times and always unable to bid anywhere

Thanks all for the feedback.  Looks like I’ll be staying in our original room. It’s a balcony in a nice location, so no big loss.
