Rare the more ports the better Posted June 19, 2022 #1 Share Posted June 19, 2022 Does anyone have experience in Rarotonga. What are the best things to do. Nothing on Viator or get your guide. There is some info on trip advisor but not a lot. Thanks!

Rare the more ports the better Posted June 19, 2022 Author #3 Share Posted June 19, 2022 Thanks so much tahitianbigkahuna, you are a wealth of info! I’ll check it out. We are geezers but we still work out every day and love a good hike!
MrRandal Posted June 27, 2022 #4 Share Posted June 27, 2022 The ship used to have an excursion called a "Circle Island Tour", which was either an open or closed bus that made a number of stops as it circled most of the island. It was very informative, the stops were interesting, most at historical sites, and if I recall it was modestly priced.

Wendy The Wanderer Posted June 30, 2022 #7 Share Posted June 30, 2022 We did a tuk tuk tour, perhaps 3 hours or so, half day I guess. It was great fun, and I'd definitely do it again. Can't remember the name of the company, but if you do some googling I'm sure it'll pop up. He took us around the island, to a brewery, a museum, the main marae. It was all very nice and we loved it. Tom Sandra Posted July 12, 2022 #8 Share Posted July 12, 2022 We just disembarked last week. We did the Muri Lagoon Cruise in Rarotonga and loved it! The shuttle/bus ride to the lagoon was also very interesting and beautiful (no narration nor announcements; just observation). A couple of nice snorkel stops and then a very light picnic on the islet. Try to get the back seat on the bus for the most space and airflow. (Details: 3 hours, $119pp, departed at 9:15am)
javadoc3 Posted August 2, 2022 #9 Share Posted August 2, 2022 We've been there 3 times. The first time was for 2 weeks. We just take the island bus and get off if a place looks interesting. This usually includes a stop to snorkel. Very inexpensive and you can take the bus clockwise or anti-clockwise.
