spocruiser Posted June 24, 2022 #1 Share Posted June 24, 2022 Looking at a TransPacific cruise from Honolulu to Sydney in October. Would be interested in comments from anyone who has done the same or a similar route in the Fall as to sea conditions (calm vs rough days) and weather. We love lots of sea days when we can be comfortably poolside. Just not familiar with what to expect on such a route. Thanks for any input you can provide.

Sailed these waters many times and with all ocean passages, there are no guarantees on the weather. We sailed into the South Pacific every 2-weeks and the weather was rarely the same. On our last Trans-Pacific we encountered 3 significant storms between L/A and Sydney, with 2 of them in the 60 kts+ category.

Thank you…does not sound like anything to be concerned about.
mauimary Posted July 2, 2022 #6 Share Posted July 2, 2022 We did this cruise in Oct 2018 from Vancouver BC- Honolulu then continued down visiting Polynesia to Sydney. It was one of our favorites. Storms all day in Vancouver so the first night was a little rough but after that it was like a lake most of the way to Auckland. We absolutely loved this cruise on Celebrity Solstice. Would love to do it again in the near future. We loved all those sea days. So relaxing.

Rare YoPhilly Posted July 17, 2022 #8 Share Posted July 17, 2022 What can we expect in the Pacific in January? L.A. to Auckland.

Last time we sailed these waters in January was 2020 and we experienced the outer edges of 2 TRS, with winds of 70 kts+
