Radiance from Long Beach- the journey, the cruise, the vibe- lotsa pix!!

I kept walking along the harbor path towards the ship…it was a bit further away than I thought…👀thankfully there was plenty of time before all aboard

 

 

There were a big group of sea lions right beside where our ship was docked…they were adorable and so much fun to watch! After I got back on board I stood out on the promenade deck with quite a few other people watching them play, swim and bark! They were a noisy bunch😍

we really enjoyed this guy…he sang in various spots around the ship

Finished out the night drinking and watching karaoke 😆

Sea Day and last day of the cruise: 

 

Sea Day Brunch is one of our favorites ♥️

For some reason I was feeling really seafoody this morning! Had the salmon Caesar and ordered a pound of peel and eat shrimp…I had never noticed them on the brunch menu before …but there they were! Up charge of 12$ but worth every stinking penny 👍🏻

The rest of the seaday consisted of this and hot tubs and naps and ice cream cones and spotting seals and pods of dolphins from the railing… and of course this⬇️

We ate our last dinner in the dining room…but realized we hadn’t had room service at all on this trip we just couldn’t have that! 🤣So of course we had to try it out … it came within 15 minutes at around 10 pm and was it ever good! We were pleasantly surprised with the quality of everything…

Well these 4 day cruises are much much too short! We had the very best of times on the gorgeous Radiance…she was classy, welcoming and the whole vibe was just….fun without being wild….everyone was so helpful ….no complaints whatsoever- honestly! Totally want to get back to Cali someday soon…would love to do the Panorama to Mexico 🇲🇽

What entree was stuffed chicken first night? I am bored with sweet & sour chicken! Pie too? We sailed Radiance end of Feb and were supposed to sail a week before but husband tested positive after packing! 

We are rebooked for and booked again cabins away from yours 👍

Curious if menus changed, if Guys burgers were improved. 
Until four years ago were Hoosiers 20yrs in Carmel.

One thing I should add is that we have found we can add SO much quality to each cruise we go on, by zigging when everyone else is zagging!  The Radiance was sailing at full capacity this time so for us , zigging meant getting up EARLY…getting to where we wanted to eat EARLY, getting off the ship early …etc. Even for the excursions we were some of the first ones in line so we got seats at the front of the bus where we could hear, got to sit at the end of the huge table at our lobster lunch, etc….got back on the ship as people were still heading ashore…everything just seems to flow better and much more enjoyable this way! 
Sea Days are usually the only days we sleep in on a cruise- I know everyone has different reasons for cruising and does things differently…this is just what has worked very well for us!

I think this is it and I think it's on the third night. . . this snip is taken from @MeganGC1983 recent review of this same ship, possibly the same sailing. I also sailed and reviewed the 4 night on Radiance a few weeks ago and saw this special 50th anniversary entree option but didn't screenshot the menus or try it myself. Came close and now @geonurse has given me retroactive FOMO. Only she can verify if this is the correct item.

Oooh yes! I believe that is it….. it was delicious! Why did I think it was my first meal!?🤷‍♀️😅

Back to Long Beach and the Hyatt Regency : 

We arrived in Long Beach while we slept…it must have been around 0600 ?
As usual we do the self assist debarkation, so we left our cases in the cabin and headed to Blue Iguana for breakfast at about 0700 ……had breakfast burritos and one last ice cream cone and then back to cabin right around 0745. We thought we would head down to the atrium and wait, but once we got down there they were already beginning to let the self assist people get off! So we never even sat down, just kept walking👍🏻
We were out on the curb before 0830 getting our Uber! Very smooth process.

We have arrived at the Hyatt Regency… here’s a view of the pool area from the walkway that goes over to the harbor♥️

We checked in right around 1030 , the room was ready so that was perfect . The room was very comfortable with a king size bed and a stellar view of Rainbow lagoon with the actual long beach in the background♥️

I requested a late checkout for tomorrow since we had a red eye flight from Lax and wouldn’t need to get to the airport until 9pm!
They gave us until 2pm complimentary and I paid 50$ more to get 2 more hours…so no checkout until 4 pm-👍🏻
We got settled in and then headed to the pool…

the hot tub was the perfect temp and the vibe out here was so bright and happy

and just beautiful 🌴

we never rented a swan boat, but it was really fun to watch everyone on them …they really got busy in the evening and on Saturday 🦢🦢

We walked across the street to PF Chang’s in the early afternoon and then enjoyed  the fire pit back on the pool deck….we chatted with a wonderful couple from Hollywood that came down for the weekend to celebrate their anniversary- and this is the perfect hotel for that…..we loved it here and actually did not want to leave❣️

Saturday morning we slept in and then headed out to find breakfast …and with the help of TripAdvisor did we ever find one. The Breakfast Bar on Atlantic Avenue was about a 15-20 min walk from the Hyatt Regency and the food was AMAZING 

Deviled Egg brunch Fries were 🔥🔥🔥🔥

Veggie Eggs Benedict with potato cake! 

And in the background- berry french toast….everything was just delicious ❣️

the walk back was just beautiful…so many pretty flowers in downtown Long Beach..

We saw Topgun Maverick- it was opening day ! and did a quick visit to the Aquarium of the Seas

 

really really enjoyed both the movie and the aquarium…..
