hrmkr Posted June 27, 2022 #1 Share Posted June 27, 2022 Hello everyone, We will be sailing on the Getaway in November. My wife does not eat beef and I love a really good steak. Looking at the specialty restaurants, Cagney's does not have a big variety for her to choose from. I saw on one thread that listed (I think) either La Bistro or La Cucina had a very good steak but can't find it now. Either of those 2 restaurants would give her many more choices. Please help. At least for us, the filet at Le Bistro was better than anything at Cagneys. Those were all very disappointing. Never again. But Le Bistro... they also have, in our minds anyway, a real sleeper: The Coq au Vin. It was slightly different than we've had elsewhere (or than I've made), but it was really tasty! A very nice surprise indeed. GC
The Shrike Posted June 27, 2022 #6 Share Posted June 27, 2022 I'll chime in to say that the tenderloin in La Cucina is also very good.
davencl Posted June 27, 2022 #7 Share Posted June 27, 2022 I had the best steak in a long time at Ocean Blue. It makes little sense but it was excellent. Just as good or better than the one I had at Cagney's.
cruiserbear55 Posted June 27, 2022 #8 Share Posted June 27, 2022 Last time on the Pearl, the prime rib(3 servings) and the strip steak I had at Indigo was far better than the porterhouse and strip steak I ordered at Cagney's. Go figure!
KarlChilders Posted June 27, 2022 #9 Share Posted June 27, 2022 I will second the tenderloin at La Cuchina. Best steak I had last cruise!
hrmkr Posted June 28, 2022 Author #10 Share Posted June 28, 2022 Thank you for the information. Now we have more choices of where do go for our specialty dinner. Anyone else?

FlGoodShips Posted June 28, 2022 #12 Share Posted June 28, 2022 LeBistro is one of our favorites. Steak was excellent there, but many other choices for your wife. Hope you enjoy.
Rare Sailing12Away Posted June 28, 2022 #13 Share Posted June 28, 2022 Vote for Le Bistro from me as well. I was a bit nervous on our most recent cruise as the menu changed a bit from the last time we visited and is more 'foo-foo' than I'm used to. It wasn't an issue at all, I had the Cote de Veau Roti, but swapped the veal chop with the filet instead. I don't eat baby cows, so they had no problem giving me mamma moo instead. And since I also don't eat mushrooms or foie gras, it was an easy swap to just get the meal with most stuff I do like and just swap out the protein. DinaS Posted June 29, 2022 #14 Share Posted June 29, 2022 Le Bistro is our favorite restaurant of all. We sometimes do more than one meal per cruise at Le Bistro:)
