Adventure/Oasis of the Seas Arcade

Recommended Posts

Hi all - going on two cruises this summer with kids in tow. First on the adventure and then on the oasis. I see the arcade credits in cruise planner.

Can anyone tell me what the arcades are like at either of these ships and what the average prices are for the games? wondering if this is worth purchasing with the current discount.

Thanks!

I’m wondering the same thing myself about the AOS arcade quality.

I’m also wondering how long it will take for a kid to blow through $50 worth of arcade credit.  Then again I probably already know the answer - one afternoon.

Really depends on the credit value per game. I was hoping they could spend it over 2-3 days playing 30 minutes or so each day but if each game is $5 not going to happen.

I have seen some games cost around 0.75 cents to $2 where some of the newer computerized games can be as much as $5.

I am not sure what the current prices for arcade on cruise planner credits are but sometimes they run specials onboard depending on crown and anchor status of the child.

Don't pre buy any sort of arcade credits.

Most kids have Xbox or Playstation and don't play arcade video game.

Besides, many machines are broken or unusable, and expensive.

Just stay away and you will be fine.

Arcades have been crap on my 3 cruises since the restart. Only half the machines turned on and among the one that are on, half are broken.

Only half of the machines were working on our last cruise before covid on Adventure. Not worth going to play.

We let our dd run wild on OOTS.   She spent the per day max her cruise card would allow ($50) whenever she went.  Long story but a lot led up to this trip....it was kind of a do whatever you want type thing.

For her efforts she brought home five or six small rubber ducks and a bunch of other small toys. Seemed she preferred the claw games.

The credit was a novel idea, but she blew through it in a day ($50) so it really was only worth the tiny discount from doing it ahead of time.

Had I not fixed my typos, her loot would have sounded a lot more generous for the money (not to mention NSFC). Lol

We were on Allure in April and I thought my kids (ages 12 & 15) would enjoy the arcade but they didn't even use it once. I'm glad I didn't prepurchase! There were two arcades - one by the teen area and one on the boardwalk, and they were often closed when my kids wanted to use them.

Also, check your crown and anchor benefits if someone posts them just before you go. There was an offer for $25 back in onboard credit if (not sure if just teens or all kids) spent $50 in the arcade when we went. That was a better deal than the prepaid credits. Also it was apparently hard for people/kids to check their credit balances? - they could only do it at the casino... not sure if that has changed now or not.

This information is very helpful.  I recently took advantage of the prepurchase deal ($100 in credits for only $75) for my 15 year old.  Now I think I may cancel it.  Can anyone confirm that there are in fact gaming consoles in the teen hangout room on Allure?  He'd much prefer to do that.

Is there anyone who sailed on Adventure in May, June or this month who can comment on whether most of the games work?

I got off today. Some were down, many worked. We played some games a couple nights as AO is inside the arcade. They have the best crazy air hockey. Games were 1.50-2.00, maybe 2.50 for claw/prize. Don't think that I'd pre-pay for a package, but would just do a few games each night.  Wouldn't have gone at all if we didn't have to go in it to get to AO.

Hey Cruizzing - how was your cruise overall?  Are you doing a review anywhere?

Just off adventure today. The arcade is pretty large and we only saw maybe 2 or 3 games that weren't working during our 3 visits during the week. Most games were $2.  In addition to screen-based video games they have skeeball, mini bowling, basketball, and a couple of crazy air hockey games, and of course claw machines (though my 7 year old niece managed to get a couple of rubber duckies out of one, so they are not totally rigged).  I actually was surprised at the variety of games - i think my husband and i had as much fun as our niece. 🤣
