$13 for Blanton's isn't bad. $15 for Whistlepig is interesting. I know they're distilling and aging at least some of their own rye, but they were pretty notorious for using MGP. Not unique to them, but...

I noticed in a previous post you said that you like a "wheated" bourbon. If given the opportunity, try "Quarter Horse" wheated bourbon. Quite smooth, with perhaps a Shetland pony kick.

I’m on the Apex next week for my first Celebrity cruise and that selection makes me sad. I’ll report back what I find there.  I actually cancelled my beverage package upgrade and will wait until I’m onboard to see if they have any decent bourbon.

Makers and BT are drinkable and ok for mixing, but would have expected some better selections for sipping.  Even a short Carnival cruise I took in May had Blanton’s and NCL often has Bookers at their whiskey bars. I’d even settle for some Knob Creek.

Had to laugh at “settling for Knob Creek”. That’s my husband’s go to bourbon. A few years ago during our second suite experience, he was told at Michael’s Club bar that they stopped stocking it because the higher proof is too flammable. Haven’t stopped laughing at that one.

Well that’s a new one!

Reviving this thread....will be on Silhouette on April TA, wondering what folks have seen/had on board recently ( can be on any ship but Silly foremost)...

Boarding the Edge on Friday. Will give a full report. Did notice the classic and premium packages on the website lists only a few bourbons.

So they removed a LOT from their advertised premium offerings.  Macallan offerings way down. Woodford Double Oaked gone.

However, Disney Cruise Line has everything, down to rare Pappy Van Winkle.

holy cow. I saw the 12 for 125 in Louisville over NYE and that's way too much. Who's buying at this price?

the Lot B routinely goes for $500+ at auction, which is insane.  But the WL Weller 12yr goes for $250+, so....why not.  A far cry from the $30/bottle this stuff cost when I first starting drinking it 14-15 years ago. I've long been priced out of this stuff--it's a steal for $40, fair at $100, but prices are in outer space now.

yea...i bought a bottle of the 12 year weller 10+ years ago at Binny's in Chicago. I remember distinctly there being 3 bottles on the shelf and don't know why I didn't grab them all 😞

I just don't care about the hype bottles. I've had pappy 12. It's good. Let's say I could buy it for $300 (I can't). Is it 10x better than Old Forester 100 or WT101 for the price? Hell no. Diminishing returns and all that.

The one I'd like to taste again is one I had in Louisville: a bottled in bond 100 proof heaven hill. That was a nice pour.

Just boarded the Edge. Here is a picture of bourbons at the casino bar. Others were the same, but only Woodford here. I spy Woodford, Woodford Rye, Buffalo Trace, Makers Mark, Bulliet and Beam.

I highly recommend you ask for a Rum Old Fashioned made using the bottle of Bumbu Rum  I spied in the top photo.

It's not for everyone, but at that price point I'm digging the new-ish Makers 101.  I'm a wheated bourbon fan and a tend to gravitate towards 100-110proof area.  So this hits my sweet spot, given a $35-40 price point. Also Knob 12yr at $65 isn't too bad (all things considered).

I would hope not. Pappy is way overblown imho.  I don't care how good it is, it can't be that good.

You kinda know or do not know (tried them all). It’s not that good. Woodford Double Oaked is my choice.
