Hunter69 Posted July 25, 2022 #1 Share Posted July 25, 2022 So If I fully pay for 2 of us on A short 3Day cruise. One of us Doesn't Show. Only the person who shows will get VIFP Points. Even if it's all fully paid for??? Correct..
mz-s Posted July 25, 2022 #2 Share Posted July 25, 2022 Right, you have to actually go on the cruise if you want the VIFP points.

Rare shof515 Posted July 25, 2022 #4 Share Posted July 25, 2022 vifp points is per person. person 1 goes on cruise gets the points and other person gets 0 points number of people in the cabin has no effect

We actually got an extra day one time because of hurricane rolling in. A 7 days cruise turned into a 8 day. They brought the previous cruise in a day early and boarded our cruise a day early so we could get back out before it hit. We got the full 8 days points even though we only paid for a 7 day cruise.
Hunter69 Posted July 26, 2022 Author #6 Share Posted July 26, 2022 Thank you, people. The Better Half can't go on this 3 day cruise, but will join me on the next 5 day one & she is 7 days short of Diamond. Plus it's only $30 extra for 2 passengers instead of 1.. I have 3 extra cruises in more than hubby due to some mother daughter trips, and right before Covid hit he was set to turn Diamond on our Panama cruise we were schedule on like 2 months away, he had to wait 2 years until we started cruising again this year. When you get that close you can taste it 😜
Rare vadersprincess12 Posted August 10, 2022 #8 Share Posted August 10, 2022 Facing a similar situation in December. Sailing with BFF who's son and family may now be coming home from England for a visit. If she cannot cruise should I just let her be a no-show rather than canceling? Assuming since the cabin is paid there won't be any other charges and they will credit the port fees and taxes. Is this correct?

We had just the opposite happen on a 14 day Panama Canal cruise, on March 5, 2020. It was one of the very last ships at sea when everything shut down due to covid. San Francisco was shut down and refused to let us dock. Cabo San Lucas also denied us entry, as did most other ports. After three days of confusion they got permission to disembark in San Pedro. While the cruise was cut short by one day (13 days instead of 14) and we received a refund equal to 1/14 of the cruise fare (plus port fees), we still got the full 14 VIFP points. Yes, they will refund taxes and port fees back to form of original payment. Potential sticking point is if this was a casino or VIFP offer booked under BFF's number which may state person named in offer must cruise. Thanks Mondello ~ it is actually a casino offer but the booking is in my name and I made the full payment so I guess I'm going to be okay!
