Turnaround day in Long Beach for a B2B

So I 'think' I understand your question.  Typically B2Bers gather in the dining room while the ship is 100% cleared.  Once that process is complete, you'll be briefly escorted down into the terminal privately where you will quickly go through Customs (take your Passport) and immediately reboard the ship.  Apart from that quick lap, you don't disembark. All of this is clearly spelled out in a letter you get in your cabin.

Now I suppose it's possible to do but you would certainly need to schedule a whole new check-in time and go through the entire process of disembarkation and embarkation if you wanted to leave the ship for a day at Long Beach.  Not worth it to simply walk over to the Queen Mary, for example.

You will meet together at a designated place and go ashore as a group and be shepherded through to re-boarding. A group photo is customary and sometimes sparkling wine is offered in flute glasses.

Our delightful Lobby Bartender, Joe from Philly (something like 28 years with Carnival) would serve up Mimosas.  The reason for this might not be immediately clear for first time B2Bers.  They close out the old Folios and the new ones don't launch until about 10:45a.  So don't try to sign into the internet until the staff tells you the system is up. (Don't ask me how I know. 🤔)

We did a B2B2B on the Panorama last September. When you meet as a group you are given new sail and sign cards. We were also provided with a transit pass that was delivered to our cabin with the B2B letter. This (along with your new sign and sail) allows you disembark and return without having to go through the checkin process if that is something you want to do. We just stayed onboard and enjoyed the temporary peace and quiet. You will also need to do the muster drill again.

On our B2B on the MG in February, the group photo was replaced with two practically identical pictures of the two of us standing in front of the Fiat parked outside of Cucina del Capitano.  And we were each given a voucher for a drink at any bar.  Since we had Cheers, we gifted them to someone we met.

Just off Valor B2B in New Orleans. We met in lobby and I was given green light to use Transit Pass to exit ship. Wife/son stayed onboard while I went to score pop/wine. I missed the group photo when they were escorted back aboard. Transit Pass comes with instructions to use Suite Guests line upon returning so, breezed past new pax. Not positive but, think I could have used the Transit Pass to leave the ship quite a bit earlier.

We will be on the Panarama for a B2B Sept. 11th and 17th.  How does it work on turnaround day?  Can we get off when we want or do we have to go off with the other B2Bers and wait until the ship is cleared?

After the check in for the  second leg of your B2B you can leave the ship. Don't forget your new S&S card. When returning just go to the terminal entrance and you will be led back on board, no waiting on line.

Thank you everyone for the good advice.  We were hoping to meet up with our nephew who is going to college in Long Beach.  For those who have done a B2B in Long Beach recently what time approximately would we be able to get off the ship on turn around day?

As others has said, of course, you can leave the ship and spend the day in Long Beach or Los Angeles or wherever.  As soon as you're cleared by customs with the other B2B guests, you're free for the day.  I've done this on HAL, Seabourn, and Azamara.  You're considered an in-transit passenger.  In my experience, it's usually around 10am.  Enjoy your time with your family and the next segment of your cruise!

Can only give you our last experience on the Freedom last December. On all B2Bs you have to wait until the ship is cleared of passengers before your check in begins. Ours began around 9:15am checked in had our complimentary mimosas in the atrium and around 10:30am we were allowed off the ship.
