We are on Sky Princess in 12 days time visiting the following 8 ports

We do not know exactly where the ship will berth in the ports other than Stockholm (Nynasham)

In which ports will it be possible to just walk in?

From previous answers on the roll-call this is what I found out:

Gdansk    -   ship's coach or train

Visby       -    walk

Stockholm (Nynasham)    - train

Helsinki    -  walk

Tallin     -      walk

Warnemunde   -   train/ buses?

Copenhagen   -   shuttle

Kristiansand   -   walk?

Can anyone with experience at these ports offer any further details please.

In particular at which ports will Princess likely provide a shuttle bus service.?

Helsinki - It's far to market square, maybe 15 minute bus ride. We took the local shuttle. RT tickets were sold at the pier, something around 5 euros.

Tallin - It is possible to walk, but fairly far. Suggest a taxi into town which is up on a hill.

Warnemunde - Depends where you dock. In one location the chartered trains to Berlin are right on the pier. You can also walk right into the small town of Warnemunde and to the beach. You can also take a train over to Rostock. The other location is across the harbor. You will have to take transportation to get anywhere.

Tallin is an easy walk.

Kristiansand easy walk……great ice cream shop in the shops near the pier.

Gdansk …to get here you will need to use ship shuttle…..or you can just stay in the port of Gdynia ..walk into town which has good shops and there is a pier with historic navel ships and boat tours.

Copenhagen you will need the ship shuttle to get into town……..look at using Copenhagen Card if you want to do several attractions as it works out cheaper( Tivoli included in this card )

Helsinki…use ship shuttle

Stockholm…will depend on where you dock…if at Nynasham use ship shuttle…..if you dock closer to Stockholm centre as we did this year on Sky you can walk takes about 45 mins or use the water taxis…when we docked close to city centre  a water shuttle was to the left of the ship and it took us right into centre.

Visby easy walk.

Hi my cruise docks at Ocean Quay/Kaj 330

I’ve looked and it seems they have added a free shuttle this year from the Ocean Quay to the city centre.

I can’t find a timetable for it anywhere.

Boat leaves Copenhagen at 12pm after a night stay and was wondering if it’s possible to get up early around 5am to go see some more. Just seems difficult as the port is so far away and will need a shuttle/metro to get there.

Do shuttles run at 4/5am in the morning?

Also how late do shuttles run? Want to get back to the boat as late as possible on the full day I have prior.

thank you for any help.

Thank you to all who have replied.

It seems as if we are good to walk in Visby, Tallin and Kristiansand.

Is there usually a ship's shuttle in Helsinki or do we have to catch local transport?

What  are RT tickets please , skynight?

Sounds like the shuttle in Copenhagen goes to the metro station. Is that right?

Which metro station is that?

There was a local person outside the security area that was selling RT bus tickets for a shuttle to a stop close to Market Square. Believe they were around 5 Euros/pp, don't remember exactly. This service was not a ship's shuttle, but was run by the local bus company. Could have changed since we were there.

Oceankjai metro station I think.  There is a huge thread about copenhagen under Northern Europe travel.  All the information you need is on that.

Gdańsk- princess coach transfer on our own. Quite a distance.

Stockholm- taxi to museum then to town centre. Easy walking around town.

Helsinki- princess offered coach transfer, easy to walk around town.

Tallin- short bus ride to town- easy to walk

Copenhagen- huge lineup for taxis to town.

many took princess coach transfer.

I think we paid for coach rides- not free, from what I remember.
