Rare Radio Posted September 21, 2022 Author #377 Share Posted September 21, 2022 Hello everyone and good morning. Welcome to DAY 4 of "LIVE" from Oasis of the Seas. We left Port Canaveral last night a little before 9:00 pm, and it seemed like the whole ship was alive until late in the evening. Aqua80, Caribbean Party, adult comedy show, Studio B, and Music Hall were offering entertainment for those who wanted to attend. I think that Casino Royale must have been the busiest I have ever experienced on this ship. All of the table games, and all of the slots had players. There may have been over a hundred passengers just waiting to sit at a slot or a table game. Crazy busy. We docked this morning at ,"Perfect Day at CocoCay at 9:00 am. Passengers should be free to go ashore by 10 am. Today I will hang out over on Chill Island. I checked this out last week, and I think it seems like it would be nice for a relaxing afternoon. There are several Beach choices to choose from and I will make a decision when I arrive. We currently have sunny skies, and no rain is in the forecast. It does seem however to be very hot and nine am today. It is likely and I will be consuming a Crispy Chicken Snack sandwich, and maybe a funnel cake at one of the Snack Shacks today. Here are a few pics from last night and this morning. Thanks for tuning in. Radio The Brevard Marine sheriff escorted Oasis of the Seas away from the pier. Aqua80 was on last night. This is a view from deck 15. I have the show reserved for tomorrow. Casino Royale was hopping The Caribbean Deck Party was busy however, I didn't like the music so much. Oasis of the Seas all lit up last night around 11. We have arrived at CocoCay. A map of Chill Island Position of Oasis of the Seas at around 8am. .
Cruisin Around Posted September 21, 2022 #378 Share Posted September 21, 2022 Hope that you have a “perfect day” today! I’ve been loving your posts. We will hopefully be on this cruise on October 2. If you happen to see it and it’s not too much trouble, would you mind snapping a photo of the lunch menu at Giovanni’s t Table? We bought the unlimited dining package and for the longest time it seemed like Chops was Restaurant that was open for lunch on embarkation day. But now it seems like it’s Giovanni’s. It’s not on the website that I can see or in the cruise planner. They only show the dinner menu. Trying to do a nice rotation of all of the restaurants for the whole week ha ha! Don’t go to any trouble. Just figured I’d ask. Thank you and have a wonderful and safe trip!

DELTABLUE Posted September 21, 2022 #382 Share Posted September 21, 2022 Looking forward to my next cruise in 59 days and got to thinking about masking. Are they required anywhere at this point or are they optional? Do you need to wear them in the terminal? I know that whatever you report is subject to change but wanted to know what the current situation is. Thanx.

The ship suggested that some ports may require for some retail establishments. I haven't found one that requires it. 2

Rare Radio Posted September 21, 2022 Author #385 Share Posted September 21, 2022 (edited) Hello everyone and good day. I had a great day in CocoCay. As suggested, I decided to go over to Chill Island and I selected one of the Beach Beds on Chill Beach. It was delightful. The beach beds come equipped with beach towels, a large cooler with water that is chilled, and two large floating mats. I have read many reviews that have suggested that there are a lot of jellyfish and a lot of small sharks on the beaches of CocoCay. I did not experience any of these hazards. Bar service is available by roaming attendants that will take your order. Soda packages and refreshment packages will work on the island. (D, D+, and PC drinks are available as well) The food area is a bit of a walk though. The Royal Caribbean Cruise planner suggests that food items will be brought for your Beach bed. That is incorrect. I could have dined at the buffet on Chill Beach, but I went over to Snack Shack over by the Oasis Lagoon Pool and had a nice lunch. I went into the water a couple times, and it was refreshing. Royal Caribbean Wayfinder showed that it was 90° at CocoCay. Yikes. The beach bed offers great shade, and yes I was able to watch news. On my way over to The Snack Shack, I noticed that the Oasis Lagoon pool was not as crowded as I would have thought. It was a very sunny and hot walk over to Chill Beach this morning, So I decided to ride the train back to the ship. A long shower was in order for my day in CocoCay, and it may be time for a little more news before dinner. Here are a few pics from today. Thanks for tuning in. Radio Chill Island Map (I had #30) It's a long walk from the ship Hmmm. . . where do we go? It's off to Chill Island Oasis of the Seas from the Chill Island Bridge Beach Beds on Chill Island Beach They are very comfortable I love the palm trees here Oasis of the Seas as viewed from Chill Island Snack Shack The water looks refreshing It is a lot less crowded than last week It's Tram time We had to stop so security could check our SeaPass cards Yikes . . . 90f Edited September 21, 2022 by Radio
Luckynana Posted September 21, 2022 #386 Share Posted September 21, 2022 Enjoying all of your posts, and your beautiful pictures, Radio! Thank you! We were on Allure this past April, and it was so very hot on Coco Cay, and the pool was wall-to-wall people! Lines for food were long, also. Coco Cay looks empty today. Enjoy the remainder of your cruise!

It turns out that a large group of Asian passengers are sailing this week (over 1500) Many if them just decide to bring the same dress for a photo opportunity. 10 of them, 20 of them and sometimes 50 of them would pose together for a photo.

Rare Radio Posted September 22, 2022 Author #396 Share Posted September 22, 2022 (edited) Hello everyone, and good morning. Welcome to DAY 5 of "LIVE" from Oasis of the Seas. (Sept 22, 2022) We arrived at Port Nassau at 8am. Freedom of the Seas have joined us here in Nassau. Passengers will be free to go ashore very soon. Construction on the pier facility started very early this morning. There were many construction workers that I could see as early as 7:00 am as we were approaching Nassau harbor. There are no specific plans today. I was entertaining a visit to Margaritaville Resort (less than 1 mile from the Port), but the day passes were sold out. Maybe I should have reserved a pass sooner. There is a live webcam from Port Nassau (Port Nassau webcam dot com) you are unable to see the Arrivals Terminal that is currently being constructed. I will go down to that area and post a few images of the status. We are scheduled to be here until 5:00 pm. The weather forecast for today is 87°f with a few clouds, and a slight chance of a passing shower. Here are a few pics from this morning. Thanks for tuning in. Radio. The sun is coming up as we approach Nassau harbor. Oasis of the Seas approaching the pier slowly. PXL_20220922_112423471~2.mp4 I can see the construction on the new Arrivals terminal. I can also see the new vendor kiosks being constructed. We are joined today by Freedom of the Seas. The schedule suggests that there are only 2 ships in Nassau today. It looks like a sunny day for the Beach pool on Oasis of the Seas. Here is some info on the new Arrivals terminal. . Rare Engineroom Snipe Posted September 22, 2022 #398 Share Posted September 22, 2022 On 9/13/2022 at 8:40 AM, robmtx said: Did someone on staff actually say it was a hydraulics problem? At the Entertainment Staff Q&A last week they said it was a "water clarity" issue. The water is getting cloudy with multiple jumps, making it impossible for the safety team underwater to see what's going on. Without that clarity, they can't safely do rapid fire jumps. This is why they were going to drain the pool in Bayonne. As far as I could tell, all stage floors were working as intended. But I'm wondering now, maybe they have two separate issues? But a drained pool is a good sign they're at least addressing the cloudiness issue. I was onboard this cruise and I noticed that engineering employees were wheeling around filtration pebbles and other items on Deck 5 aft near the Aqua Door Crew entrance (back of ship, near observation chairs). We walked between 8am and 10am everyday. I believe we were in Nassau when I saw them. I had owned and maintained many salt water aquariums and these items would be used for a sand gravel bacterial filtration system. Your water clarity statement would lead me to believe the explanation is correct.

Your water clarity statement would lead me to believe the explanation is correct. Captain Tore suggested that it was 2 reasons for the closure. A hydraulic leak was causing hydraulic fluid to seep into the water causing problems for the divers who are underwater during each show. The water was murky and it was difficult to see the swimmers. The murkiness was by hydraulic fluid. Everything seems to be repaired now. The Aqua80 show is now operating.
