Difference between Celebration & Mardi Gras?

We have been on the Mardi Gras and are curious about what the difference’s might be between the two? I really like the 6 day itinerary as we have never been to Maghony Bay!

Loved the aft pool. Is Emerils still going to be there? My husband has OBC offer of $500 that expires 10-31. Thanks I have some time to decide!

Going on the Celebration soon. I actually kind of prefer the New Orleans theme of the Mardi Gras, but I'm sure we will find enjoyment in this as well!

Yes we did too! So it will be a different themed bar? But I read in the reply above there will be a Emerils? Confusing

Yep! Emeril's is still there! The Carnival staples.... Alchemy, Guys, P&A, Red Frog Tiki, etc., will all still be there. It's the other French Quarter venues - Brass Magnolia, Fortune Teller (and I think Bar Della Rosa in the Piazza) that will have the Miami theme.  (wondering out loud what Jubilee's theme will be....)

How is the Celebration getting 46 more cabins with the same footprint as the Mardi Gras? What rooms/areas were removed to make room for these extra rooms?

It looks like (just based on a cursory look at Carnival's website "compare" function):

Removed Spaces on Celebration:

The Brass Magnolia

The Fortune Teller

Emril's Bistro

The Celebration will have Emeril's, but it will be named Emeril's Bistro 1397 instead of 1396 like on Mardi Gras.  It will also have 2 bars in the same place as Brass Magnolia and Fortune Teller.

You can take a look at the deck plan to see how it compares to Mardi Gras:  https://www.carnival.com/~/media/Images/Ships/CB/DeckPlans/carnival-celebration-deck-plan-pdf

Hi 🙂

Just a bit of trivia. The 1397 for Emeril's Bistro stands for the 'Yard Number' at the Meyer Turku Shipyard where the Celebration is being built.

Same for the Mardi Gras Emeril's Bistro 1396. When Mardi Gras was being constructed at Meyer Turku, the ship was in Yard Number 1396.

You can see Meyer Turku ships & yard #'s here:

The French Quarter area will be replaced so Brass Magnolia and Fortune Teller will no longer be there, but Emeril's is staying.   The Fortune Teller bar is being replaced by a drinks from around the world.  Hopefully the new drinks will be more go than show, which was my interpretation of the offerings at Fortune Teller.

The Celebration will be over 2,000 gross tons more in order for those 46 cabins to be added.  See the chart in post #15.

So is the 820 Biscayne on Dec 8 just Deco Deli (deli menu) and Miami Slice (pizza pirate menu)?

Don't know which of the older ships have deco deli or it's corresponding menu, but the Celebration's deli menu should be identical to the Piazza Panini from the Mardi Gras.
