Barcelona Hotel Prices

Not sure when is the best time to book. Cruise is in early June, but plan to arrive a few days early. Im noticing a big increase in most rooms for that time period. Is it because of a Holiday or celebration there? Or maybe the start of Cruising season? Im wondering if prices fluctuate month to month? Or if I should bite the bullet and book now?  Im leaning toward the H10 hotels close to Plaza Catalunya

Not necessarily just the cruising season, but June starts the very popular tourist season in Europe.  VERY popular.  Barcelona is a major tourist destination.  Prices will be higher in June through August every year. And likely to go higher as it gets closer to June.

If you find a hotel you like,  I would book it now, on a fully refundable basis. 

June is peak holiday season - there is no reason why prices will fall.

I noticed this as well for end of May. Keep checking and fully refundable prices are even higher. Would like Royal Ramblas.

The Spanish F1 Grand Prix takes place on June 4th, and that will gave an impact on prices that weekend.

I booked the HH Montblanc near Catalunya Plaza for May 26-27 back in June.  It is now $30 pp more for the same dates.

Make sure you join Club H10 for a discount price.  Maybe not much, but it helps.

Sometimes they offer extra discount and if you have booked a Refundable rate you will be able to reprice.

Now that makes sense! Lucky me I picked the most crowded weekend, LOL 

After all my searching, we got a good price at Hotel Colon. Hoping we like it.

We stayed there a couple years pre-pandemic and thought it was great.  Nothing fancy, but clean and the staff were friendly and helpful.  For our cruise early next year out of Barcelona we opted to stay a bit further from the port and booked El Avendia Palace, which is closer to more of the sights we want to see this time around.
