Breakaway Haven 2-BR question(s)

Hi all,

We're thinking of booking a pair of the Haven two-bedroom suites (16106 and 16108) on the Breakaway and wanted general thoughts from people who've stayed in them beforehand. Both of these are listed to sleep 6.

Are we meant to sleep two in the living room or three in the smaller bedroom?

Is there a pullman bed in the second bedroom above the couch?

How terrible are the non-master beds on the ship? We're two families with two (small) kids each, but we're also thinking of bringing along a grandparent or two. Is it cruel to stick an adult or two in the second bedroom or in the living room?

Any other thoughts on the rooms are appreciated. Thanks all!

When they list “sleeps up to 6’”  I believe they assume 2 in the main bedroom , 2 in the 2nd bedroom and 2 on the pullout couch.

Yes, there is a Pullman bed which drops from the ceiling in the second bedroom.

In the second bedroom there is no real bed….  The couch folds out into a bed and the Pullman drops down.

Are they comfortable..???…. My opinion….  Even with a mattress topper an adult will get by….   Kids will sleep on pretty much anything….. but a grandparent…..   I wouldn’t subject them to either of those.

hope it. Helps

The Master bedroom has a king sized bed, and it's wonderful. The bathroom is big, has double sink vanity, a large tub and separate large shower with a floor to ceiling window to see the ocean as you shower (there are blinds if you're at port and want to use them).

The second bedroom is a much smaller version of an inside cabin. There is a couch and a bunk that drops from the ceiling. It's not the most comfortable for a middle-aged man (i.e. me), but my teenagers had no issues with it. There is a bathroom connected to the bedroom which is small but totally adequate. A sink, toilet, and small shower.

The couch in the living room could theoretically sleep 2, but I wouldn't put more than 1 there, unless it's really little kids, like under 10. Note that whoever is sleeping there cannot get to a bathroom unless they first go through someone else's bedroom first.

THIS 👆. We stayed in that suite 2 times. I say it comfortably would sleep 4 at the most.

We slept 6 in the 2 bedroom on the getaway with my  2 sons and 1 girlfriend and one buddy. 2 slept (couple)t in the small room no problem. One son (age 18 & 6foot tall) slept on couch and his buddy slept on floor with couch cushions laid out. It was tight but they had a ball. Kids don't care where they sleep when there's gummy bears and chocolates delivered 24/7 🙂

We just got off the breakaway in Haven suite 16714 ( two bed). We slept in the main bedroom. I found the bed too soft and lumpy. We took the getaway last winter and will do it in February with our daughter ( in the living room) and two little kids in the tiny ( and I mean tiny) second bedroom. The second bathroom is fine and there is enough storage. Six people would be terrible. Try to book the grandparents in any room that has Haven access. I believe the fifteenth floor is cheaper because you need to climb a staircase.

2 in master bedroom.

3 in 2nd bedroom (sofabed can be configured to sleep 1 or 2 and Pullman for 1 in the ceiling).

1 in living room (sofabed for 1).

Here is the 2nd bedroom with the sofa bed in "sleeps 2" configuration. The small door for the bathroom doesn't open fully when the bed is like this, iirc. Nearly all of the 2BR H6 (new code) have the Pullman in the ceiling. The only one that doesn't sleeps 5 (16722)

Thanks for the picture!!

Does the bathroom door in the smaller bedroom open enough for someone to *use* the bathroom if the lower bed is opened for a double?

I never thought about that before!

Thanks!

My all time favorite haven room thus far , have traveled in this one twice with just my 2 kids and the second time with 2 kids I kid friend and grandma. It works best with just 4  but is ok with 6 as long as the sofa is like kids or teens maybe one adult . You do lose that nice living room space if someone’s sleeping. I would still grab it with 6 if it. Ent. Ring in haven but 4 is best .   MAn I miss that gorgeous bathroom .

Wait!

The main bathroom in the Haven 2BR suite has a tub with that remarkable view?

They put those in the newer ships, but took them OUT of the older ships?

😠

[nope, we don't want to sail on the larger ships, for a variety of reasons.  But we LOVED that "Bathtub With A View"!]

How about a bathtub on the Epic (looking out at the port of Southampton).

The Getaway aft suite with a master bedroom has a similar amazing view as the one Bird had on the Breakaway.20220903_135425.thumb.jpg.3a8a749f469e5fcdced58342220a0bd9.jpg

Nice!

Are they planning to remove the tubs in these 2BR suites whenever they next go to dry dock?

It's a REAL shame, as far as we are concerned.  I love to enjoy nice relaxing baths, with a good book, on vacations... nothing will interrupt me.

And they are taking the tubs out of the larger (but not largest, I think) suites in NCL (e.g., 2BR suites) and also Oceania (e.g., PH suites).

So not only is the "tub with view" gone, but the tub is gone, period!

😞

It's almost too bad that I ever enjoyed them... then I wouldn't be missing them... no expectations, etc.

Sigh.

(And yes, absolutely a First World Problem!)

Thanks also, cruiseny4life.

On the Pearl (our only experience with 2BR Haven suites), there was no balcony outside the bathroom, so both the tub and shower had really clear views.  (Of course, those suites also had the tiniest balconies, but I digress...!)

^ Deck 13 - The smallest aft-facing balcony depth.

For BA/GA, Aft-facing Haven Suite configuration B (bathroom with a view) is on decks 9, 10, 12, 13.

For BA/GA, Aft-facing Haven Suite configuration A (bathroom without a view) is on decks 11 and 14.

We have stayed in 2br suites on the Jewel and NOW on the Breakaway. My wife and I sleep in separate bedrooms as I snore annoyingly. I (71yo) sleep in the second bedroom with an egg crate pad on the bed and it’s comfortable. I can’t imagine two adults sharing that bed. No opinion on the living room couch.

We decided on our family of 4 (2 adults, two kids) in a 2 br, and the rest of the family split in a haven penthouse and a forward suite. (Original plan was 10 people between 2 2 br suites.) A bit better separation for all.
