Ktuluorion Posted October 7, 2022 #1 Share Posted October 7, 2022 Anyone have a recommendation of hotel for the night before cruise? (preferably a hotel that has a shuttle to the cruise terminal). Seems like this terminal is more remote than the other one in PR.
RichYak Posted October 7, 2022 #2 Share Posted October 7, 2022 Pan American is a 10-15 minute very inexpensive Uber ride from downtown Old San Juan. There's no need for a shuttle. Stay downtown and enjoy some great food and visit one of the forts.
phoenix_dream Posted October 7, 2022 #3 Share Posted October 7, 2022 My advice is stay by the airport. There are a number of nice hotels there (we like the Embassy Suites, or for less $$ the Hampton Inn). You have to taxi or Uber from the airport to somewhere anyway. Might as well stay close to the airport and just transport in the morning. Less expensive, nice restaurants nearby, casino in the property, walk to a grocery store if you like, or the beach. We've done it that way a number of times. Since it's only for one night no need to pay more $$ to stay closer to the port IMHO. I don't know of any hotels near the port that offer free shuttles. And if you haven't booked your flight yet I personally would recommend coming in a couple days before. There aren't that many flights to PR from most places and if something goes amok with your flight there will be fewer back-up options with the full flying planes these days.
Rare NutsAboutGolf Posted October 7, 2022 #4 Share Posted October 7, 2022 I’m on team fly in the night before but when it comes to PR, I’d rather fly from SoCal into FL the day before, spend the night in FL then take the first flight out the PR the day of embarkation.
Rare mom says Posted October 7, 2022 #5 Share Posted October 7, 2022 I'd suggest looking at the San Juan forum. There are threads there with hotel recommendations https://boards.cruisecritic.com/forum/80-san-juan-pr/
