We've always loved HAL -- especially the crew and I'm sure once onboard we will have a wonderful holiday. Usually I would just bite the bullet so to speak and be done with it. You win some, you lose some when it comes to pricing. But this is such a considerate amount that I can't let it go. Plus the booking has had issues since the start. Originally I booked a specific cabin and then several weeks later signed into my account and the cabin number was different. Phoned the travel agent who then spent hours on hold with HAL to find out that they had randomly changed our cabin due to "operational concerns" and the cabin was inferior to what we had originally booked. 😡 Needless to say I'm already an unhappy camper after that! I don’t blame you. That’s a lot of $$. Easy for some to say otherwise. Pretty sure no one would be happy with that even if they say otherwise.

Personally I’d love to have a half empty ship again. Counting available cabins is not an indication of how well the cruise is booked. There could be a lot of guarantee bookings. Sold out cruises: casino rates????? The casino is hopping.

There may be no actual paying customers on those ships 😛. You make a good point.

If you or your TA do call and ask for an upgrade be sure to mention how you were moved for operational reasons to a different less attractive cabin. That way it is more than just the fact that the price was decreased. The price decrease allow them to solve the cabin change issue by moving you to an upgraded cabin that is still within the amount you originally paid. Also ,Hawaii cruises are Extremely popular cruises which tend to sell out quicker than others .Even though SD is our home port ,we could not chance not getting the cabin we wanted . So it really depends on the person's situation .One solution may not fit every one Edited October 23, 2022 by mcrcruiser
