We sailed on the NS in September for a back-to-back cruise out of Quebec.  This was our first HAL cruise in 14 years, and we were impressed.  For the last decade we had been sailing on Celebrity and Royal.

We liked the cruise so much we are going back for 7 weeks starting this weekend.

The main theatre was a disappointment, but the live music entertainment was outstanding.

We enjoyed the food and the layout of the ship.

However, be prepared for some serious crowding issues over the holidays.

The crew is friendly and willing to please.

We sailed on the NS right before covid shut all the cruises down.  We really liked the ship, the food, the service and especially the live entertainment.  There was an awesome Rock Room band we listened to every night..  We had a inside cabin and felt it was sufficient for our needs.

And, we had a large glassed in shower!  We ate in the dining room, Dive in Burgers and the Deli/Pizza location.  You can order a whole pizza to take to your room, if you would like to do so. We have mostly sailed on Princess and we liked our NS cruise even better.  The only negative, if there is one, is that Princess has great Broadway type shows in the theater.  All the Princess singers and dancers were great.

The Niew Statendam was the first of the two current HA Pinnacle Class ships. The latest is the Rotterdam. These are HA premier ships! We sailed on the Rotterdam in July/August and it’s an amazing ship. These ships have the full Music Walk with excellent musicians, wonderful food, and beautiful cabins (most comfortable bed I’ve EVER slept in.  You are bound to have a great trip.

No there are three P-class ships.  Koningsdam was the first.
