Has anybody experienced this before

We booked a seven day cruise for October 16, 2022 on the grand Princes thru the casino…. It was eventually canceled by Princess so we took a move over on the Discovery princess for November 26

was told that we could purchase the Princess plus drink package prior to boarding we tried to purchase it last week but was told because we have a casino Rate on the stateroom we could not purchase the dream package they said because I got an upgrade from an ocean view to a balcony it was an allowed I brought to the attention of the casino department that when I rebooked the move over Cruise the discovery had no oceanview rooms available and what they’re saying to me is basically too bad take it or leave it

Hang Up Call Again.

The Plus package can be added to casino rates. Have you tried doing it via the website?

on mobile: log in, go to the account page (not shown) select sailing by clicking Manage This Booking, click “onboard services”, the

upgrade should be the very top of the page that comes up. See below.

Although not definitive the terms and conditions do leave Princess an out for those booked under another offer. From the terms and conditions:

“Princess Plus and its parts are non-transferable, is not redeemable for cash and may not be combinable with other offers.”

The upgrade excuse is very lame, and unlikely documented anywhere. The Discovery only has 6 ocean view cabins, cat. O6, which are located all the way forward on deck 17. Seems to me that casino offers on the Discovery and all Royal Class ships, the first three have no ocean view cabins, would be at the least obstructed view balcony cat. cabins. That is how the ship is constructed. I would not consider your move an upgrade. It’s just a move over to other Discovery allocated casino cabins. Furthermore, you did not request any upgrade. It was provided because that is all Princess had available.

You will not be able to purchase the Plus fare package once on board. Plus & Premier packages must be purchased prior to boarding, I think 3 days is the cut off. You can purchase the beverage package. That will cost you around $70/day/pp and will not include the internet or the crew incentive.

I would keep trying. Maybe you will find someone that will allow you to purchase the plus package.

It's a code that can be added to any booking.  I added princess plus to several booking this year, before the button was available.  2 different TA's were able to add the code to 2 different cruises once I told them it was a code, not a promotion.  I don't know the exact code, but any TA should.

I hope you figure this out, that they'll help you.  It's a great deal.

We book several cruises a year through the casino department with free balconies upgrade to full suites and add Princess Plus never had an issue. You need to go through casino sales and get a manager if necessary

I tried to do this both through my PVP and casino dept.  Neither could add Plus to the casino rate & both were confused as to why not.  But they couldn't.

Eventually I gave up and paid for the Plus pkg separately as an onboard service (which was more expensive) since our casino rate was so good and I didn't want to lose it.  Frustrating but I got tired of fooling with it.  Just relating my experience - hopefully you have better luck.
