prekteacher1 Posted November 18, 2022 #1 Share Posted November 18, 2022 Does anyone have an update on the issues that EoS was having this afternoon. Someone posted that they were dead in the water. Someone else said she had issues a few weeks ago and had to be brought in by tug. We are supposed to board her on Sat for a 12 day cruise to Eastern Caribbean. Any info would be appreciated. Not sure where that came from - she slowed some but was never dead and no obvious mechanical issues.
shipgeeks Posted November 18, 2022 #3 Share Posted November 18, 2022 On the earlier cruise she was escorted by tugs, not brought in by tugs, after a rope was caught in one of the thrusters. No issues last week, and we saw one day that all new ropes were ready to be installed.

Glad to know that. It was posted on the Enchantment FB fan page by someone who was onboard.
shipgeeks Posted November 18, 2022 #5 Share Posted November 18, 2022 Yes, I think her post has led to some unnecessary worry. She is now reporting that they are moving along as planned. Last week we slowed down a few times as we were ahead of schedule, and then waiting for the Chesapeake pilot. It could be as simple as that. She slowed to about 8 knots for a while (don’t know why) and to some that may seem like dead in the water.
shipgeeks Posted November 19, 2022 #7 Share Posted November 19, 2022 She is now in Baltimore as scheduled. The explanation is that some new parts had been installed, and were being tested while out at sea. No problems.
HicksRA Posted November 19, 2022 #8 Share Posted November 19, 2022 Probably had to slow to apply more JB Weld to the hull to keep the engines from falling through.
VTSKIandCRUISEGUY Posted November 26, 2022 #9 Share Posted November 26, 2022 Love the Enchantment. About to go on her for the 4th time. If you don't like older ships, then stay away. Why do you even bother to look at a post for a ship you have such derision for? To trash it? Go and enjoy whatever ships you like. Leave the older ships to those who love them. Very intimate and peaceful. teddie
