Car service tipping to cruise ship

Can anyone tell me what the tipping policy is in the United Kingdom for car service from Heathrow to Southampton when using car service where tipping is not included in price.

we tipped 10 or 20 GBP    in 2019  not sure

but the driver was ontime got us to LHR  in plenty of time  & very pleasant

This is where I get confused. I thought UK was a non tipping culture. Or does this only apply to restaurants?

From what I've personally seen and from what I've read tipping in the UK is more common than many would suggest, particularly and somewhat surprisingly in restaurants, though apparently not in pubs.

We tipped because  we thought the service was good  but come to think of it  I think it was an all in price we got

Some places in Southampton did not add the service  charge/tip in their prices  

some did but still had the tip jar on the counter  it was very confusing LOL

The UK is a tipping culture, not as wide as the US but I would tip taxi drivers and restaurant staff.

We used a car service in July to get us to Southampton from LHR  and tipped the driver 10GBP.

10% of fare or bill is pretty standard in the UK - many restaurants add service automatically; although it will be itemised on the bill, so check first.
