It''s not that the addl charge for Aqua is that much especially when only paying taxes/fees but if some people actually did only pay $10.00 to upgrade from veranda to Aqua, that amount should be available to all.

My guess is the $10 price difference from concierge to aqua is to cover the spa and Blu and like you indicated, well worth the $20.

We were charged $10 pp/day when we booked a couple of months ago into Aqua class. But it is irrelevant what we paid, since BCC sets the price to whatever they want it to be.

It might be worth your time to call again and you may get a different agent. Or wait until closer to sail date to try again.

Could your Blue Chip level determine whether it’s $10 or $20 dollars?

Extremely odd. I just checked my last five bookings and I was ONYX / AMETHYST at the point of these bookings. Always been $20 per cabin/day.

My wife is shown as ONYX and I am shown as PEARL. But the email offer is in her name.

At this point I think we can all agree that the tier is totally irrelevant. BCC sends offers to people who can't even remember gambling. 😂

Just to be clear in my mind, you did an upgrade from a regular veranda to Aqua, not from a concierge to Aqua. I was going to call BCC earlier today but did not have a chance. I will call first thing tomorrow and see if I can get any sort of answer as to how they decide on upgrade amount. Who knows, maybe I can get them to adjust the amount I was charged.

I had an unlucky run last week and was on hold a very, very long time - twice. Got through quickly to new bookings number (option 1) and was transferred. And waited, and waited, and gave up. Maybe I’ll try again this week. I have an existing booking and was asking about the upgrade. Thanks.

Baffling...Now we're trying to determine if these same people are also receiving AQ upgrade offers or if only those who actually gambled received them

My wife and I are both Pearl level , and gamble very little on Celebrity.  In July, we booked two free veranda cruises, and were able to upgrade to Aqua for $10 per person per night on both cruises.  However, in late August, we had to change dates on one of the cruises we booked, and were charged $20 per person per night for the new cruise.  When I told them we were only charged $10 per person previously, the rep told me that he had made a mistake by allowing upgrades at the lower cost, and $20 per person per night was the correct amount.

Sounds to me like they're pulling these numbers out of their rear. The prices should be given by the computer so how can any agent "make a mistake"?

What's funny is that one day I received some odd $140 FCC from a cruise on Millennium via email that I took and where there was no impact of anything. I decided to apply that FCC to a Blue chip reservation and voila, it took off all the upgrade costs I incurred for the AQ Upgrade. 😬

Wow! After holding for two and one half hours for someone to  speak to me on the Blue Chip line, I was told that the  cost to upgrade from veranda to aqua class on the Blue Chip promo cruise would be over $2000.  I declined. I don't know why others were offered upgrade for 10-20 $ per day to Aqua class.  I have always  played in Celebrity's casinos, so being a non player would not be an answer,  There are also many Aqua class cabins available on my sailing

I tried calling twice today and gave up after about an hour each time. Will try again in the morning, how far behind can they be at that hour when they start taking calls. I still want them to clarify if it's 10 or 20 pp per day to upgrade to Aqua.

Think I will call bcc and see if they actually can give a reason why possibly different charges.

I have never understood folks that look a gift horse in the mouth.  Your getting a free stateroom and you are arguing over an additional cost to upgrade from your FREE cabin?  Really?

I am not looking a gift horse in the mouth ( being ungrateful or critical of a gift) .  Nor do I think most of the posters here are ungrateful.  Just trying to understand the system for allowed upgrades.  Why is one asked to pay $20 per day and another is asked to pay $285 per day to upgrade from veranda to Aqua. I am grateful for this opportunity and will enjoy

I think it was three mass offers ago, they were only offering the Solstice for the Mexican Riviera and the one before that was the Millie out of PR.  Had they included a ten night sailing on the Edge out of FL people would have been happier.  I exclusively book my sailing at future cruises when on board and no longer receive their offers by email/mail

I am not sure if this is what happened to you, but on one of my calls to the Blue Chip club, they told me no low cost upgrade was available to Aqua for a specific cruise I inquired about.  They said if I wanted to upgrade to Aqua on that cruise, I could get a special Blue Chip rate of a certain percentage off the regular rate for that category.  I passed on that offer, and asked them to tell me which cruises had low cost upgrades to Aqua available, which they did.
