Opinion's about the Dawn.

I have always sailed on the Breakaway class ships, and I was curious is there a lot to on the smaller ships such as the Dawn.

Do they have a comedy club or other venues that I am not seeing? We are leaving in April for the west Caribbean.

Just got off a month on the Dawn.

It is a somewhat different experience from the -Away class ships.  There is no comedy club other than what may be scheduled in the main theater. Much of the musical offerings every night take place in the atrium, which means that the music can be enjoyed a number of different places, including O'Sheehans. There are also music and other events (the cruise staff show, tribute shows, e.g.) in Bliss.  We were never close to being bored in 30 days.

We much prefer the smaller ships--have sailed Dawn, Gem, Star,  Jade, Sun, Spirit and others and that is our preference.  Sailed Epic once (never again) and Getaway for 28 days B2B (also never again).  The big ships are just not our preference at all.

When we sailed the Dawn, we missed a few things to be honest. Primarily we missed the Spinnaker lounge from the Jewel class ships and the waterfront from the larger ships. We did like the pool deck though; the tiered areas were pretty cool. Staff, service, and restaurants were great as always.

I have sailed on the Dawn, Gem, Pearl, Spirit, and Bliss. The Dawn is my favorite ship in the fleet. We love the family suites on deck 12, and the pool area is great. We also think the setup of the atrium for entertainment is fantastic. It doesn't have all the bells and whistles of the larger ships, but the crew is second to none.

My preference is the Breakaway Plus ships but it's just that -- a preference; others feel differently.  Many people just prefer a smaller ship and the Dawn's capacity is about half of the newer ones.  I'm the opposite.  I've also found they manage the casino smoke better in the newest ships, which is important to me.

But I was a fan of the Champagne bar and also like the fact that there's a Moderno onboard.  Just about every crew member, regardless of ship, is great and the Dawn is no exception.

No, Hugo Van Vanosmael.

Wonder if Alain retired. He was ( maybe still is) the finest Hotel Director I have ever met on an NCL ship. Always remembered us from cruise to cruise on the Dawn, and was never too busy to stop and chat awhile. A true Gentleman!

Was on the Dawn last week for 7 nights...Our 3rd time on that ship, we love the aft facing suites and think the crew was just terrific...Not one complaint from us...We enjoy the "smaller " ships but have booked the Escape and the Getaway for cruises in 2024 and 2025......So we'll see..???
