Just made a royal bid up from interior cabin to balcony, we sail 14 January 2023 on Adventure of the Seas, out of Galveston.  How does it take for Royal Caribbean to respond?  Thank you.

We did a Royal Up in September, Indy out of Port Canaveral.  We were notified 3 days before sailing.  Earlier that week I had even lowered the bid to minimum. 🤷‍♀️

Interesting strategy.  Might scare 'em that you're withdrawing your next move [and no $$, ha].  Assume you like to bluff in poker too, LOL. Was your bid accepted..from what to what if so?  We see these royal up bids as just part of the fun; like playing the lottery or something.  You know you're going to lose, but heck, you get excited anyway, ha.  Just think what that Royal Suite is gonna be like, ha.

Out of all bids, Interiors have a higher bid acceptance than the other categories. Good luck!

We were in a junior and had bids on a Grand, Owner, and the Royal Suite.  JS is already pretty nice on Freedom class but enjoy breakfast in Chops, quiet place to sit and read in SL, and priority debark.  DH was over the excitement of a possible upgrade by that time and wanted me to cancel the bids.  I just lowered to minimum for what the heck.  Won the Grand Suite. 😁

Royal Up is all about maximizing revenue.  It starts from the top down, looking at the highest bid, for the top category that has an available room, accepting that highest bid and freeing up a lower category cabin, repeating the process all the way down.

If unfilled bids still remain, the process is repeated once the ship embarks accounting for no-shows/last minute cancellations.

Sailing on a lower occupancy ship or making a Royal Up bid when booked in an interior can yield better success even with a minimum bid.
