It's not too bad. I sat in the hot tub for a bit after I unpacked. It's very windy, so anywhere there is glass it's pretty cold ...

Thanks!  Do you know if the band Rockport is still on board?

Last night I went up to Windjammer when it opened to look around and grab a few pictures and a snack. It looked like they had most of the MDR options for mains as well (although I didn't grab a photo.

They had salads both in large bowls and single serving cups:

And various other things:

And desserts:

And my random assortment of cheese, watermelon, and chickpeas:

After my Windjammer recon, I went back to my cabin and relaxed with Netflix (trying to finish Instant Hotel before they take it off Netflix). I then got dressed for the show and dinner. I never cruises during the glamorous days of old when there were eight courses and tuxedos, so I don't have the strong feelings some folks do about MDR clothes.  But my first cruise was a Baltic one, when folks did get quite dressed up. I feel more comfortable being slightly dressed up, so that's what I do. I draw the line at dress shoes. I have Flintstone feet and there is no such thing as comfortable dress shoes for me. So I rocked my Allbird slip ons with a skirt and stockings ...

Okay ... I'm getting behind ...

Dinner last night. First night in the MDR means packing your patience. I had the second seating and it had a bit of a madhouse feel. And a lot of people seemed to have messed up table locations, where linked reservations became unlinked ... Including three teenage cousins at my table for eight that were nowhere near their families ....

The service was slow (approaching two hours), but I thought everything was good.

Butternut squash soup from the vegan menu:

So, the ship was pretty darn cold last night. And by cold, I mean pipes burst, water on the Solarium floor turning to ice, cold. My room was chilly, but I slept in a sweatshirt and long pants and was fine.  Apparently, we could only run engine while docked, so there wasn't much that could be done.

The beds are firm, but I didn't find them as uncomfortable as others seem to ...

I got room service tea and pastries to start my day. They were good, but the water tea wasn't quite as warm as I would liked. I asked for 6:30 to 7:00 and they showed up promptly at 6:27 ....

As a theme of this morning, Windjammer was freezing ... Like ice on the windows ... The food was piping hot and good, though, so I ate and went in search of warmth ... Around 7:30, it wasn't crowded, but it was getting crowded by the time I left.

Tonight is the first formal night and there is a lot of holiday finery. I've seen more men in tuxes than I can ever recall ...

I'm so happy to hear that!  Wish we were there.....but we have to wait for a couple more months.

Tonight was the holiday menu. I apparently neglected to take pictures of anything but the menu and the soup. I had the butternut squash soup, the turkey, and spice cake. It was all excellent. And was super fast - it was maybe an hour in total.
