Pinnacle grill/MDR planning

Before posting this question I did attempt to find a definitive answer first. Itinerary 3/25 Sat- FLL , Sun-HMC ,Mon Sea, Tue- Curacao ,Wed-Aruba, Thu-Sea ,Fri-Sea ,Sat -FLL/home. Thursday will be gala menu. ( No question or needed response about attire).

Will the first gala menu be Sunday /HMC because  is an early departure port or Monday first sea day?. I have review the boards and some say defiantly Sunday while other posts say Monday. I have  tried to review the menus posted on line to get a better idea .Roger Jett, Cruise Professor and others. Some of the menus do not  match so still unclear. Yes I realize  different menus different sailings. Would like to book Pinnacle grill for a night the MDR has less then exciting menu.

Based on the Itinerary you posted I agree with CruiserBruce. I have never seen a Gala night on the first night. I would say 98% of the Gala nights I have experienced have been on sea days.

I would prebook a night convenient to you now, knowing you can change once on board.

Agree. Sea day for "Gala" and not sure they would have it the same day as buffet beach day at HMC. Book Pinnacle asap to get your time. You also could book 2 dinners and cancel once onboard and menu is known (if cancellation is soon enough). Yes you may get charged initially and credit back on statement but you'll have your choice day and time. And to be honest, when you mentioned "less than exciting menu" could be any night, including "dressy" night these days.  (subjective, but HAL chose to downgrade "gala" to "dressy"). 😉

Curious as to which ship/sailing you're on. We're on NS departing FLL 3/18, returning 3/25, so you're right after us.

We have a similar itinerary, FLL>HMC>Sea>Port>Port>Sea>Port>FLL. From our experience, our 1st Gala night will be on the first sea day, which is how we're planning our other onboard activities.

Nieuw Statendam . If you have time and inclination could you post menus .

If you go to the Navigator app you can see the daily menus. I am not sure how far out in advance they post. I believe at least 60 days out as I am 46 days out and have been looking at them for about 2 weeks.

My Rotterdam 7-Day cruise boarding on the 28th in Port Everglades will have Gala Night on 29th at Half Moon Cay.

After reviewing my downloaded menus for 7-Day (posted soon), 10-Day, and 11-Day menus for this Caribbean season, Gala Nights vary from Half Moon Cay or first sea day.  The menus that I have posted so far reflect this variance of Gala nights on nights 02 and 03.

Are you able to see the full set of actual menus for your specific sailing, or just sample menus for the various dining venues?

The menus appear to be the daily menus that the ship is having that evening. They pretty much are the same each week with slight changes. The breakfast and lunch menus are also shown. Can't be much different than the poster asking for menus from the cruise prior to theirs. The Pinnacle New Years menu as well as the New Years Day brunch menu at the Pinnacle are also shown.

Hmmmm, I'm not seeing any of that for our March '23 sailing... maybe too soon?

The menus you see are from the current sailing day that you look at them on the Navigator app.  All of the 7-Day menus are the same for all HAL ships on the same number of days (not ports) itinerary with the Gala Nights moving to other than late port nights if necessary.  Same for 10- and 11-Day cruises.

Menus are the same for all ships in the current season on the same number of days.

This Variance is exactly what is confusing. HMC day 2 or Sea 3. Thank for answering.

Not sure if others have had same experience, but menus I have seen prior to boarding have been genetic. Even onboard the ship they have only been valid for that day. We found they were updated some time each morning. My wife and I would usually check around 10:30 - 11:00 to decide if we would go to MDR or Lido for Lunch. We also used prior to going to dinner so ordering would be easy when we got there.

As for finding them on Navigator App touch the Ship (Experiences) then select dinning and drinks.

I sailed in November with a similar itinerary leaving on Saturday, though Curacao and Aruba were switched in order. After checking with my daily programs, the dressy nights were Monday, Day 3 (Sea day after HMC) and Thursday, Day 6 (first sea day on way back).

Sorry if already explained, but where in the Navigator app do you find the daily menus? Thanks!

On the main page under Dining. Click the restaurant and menus can be found but they are generic unless you are onboard (when they change things).
