We left the ship in a small van to travel north from the pier to Hacienda Don Engracia. During our visit here we sampled 7 shots of tequila. Blanco, Reposado, Anejo, Almond, Peach, Coffee and a coffee mezcal. We bought a bottle of the Coffee Tequila. This is the root of the blue agave that they use to make tequila. We then had a chocolate tasting. The site grows cacao. Then we got a lesson in how to make a perfect guacamole. We got to sample it along with a passion fruit margarita. Delicious! Tomorrow we are in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. Was your tour included or selected. We could not have done 5 shots of tequila and then a margarita. Our city/walking tour was included and included too much time on the bus and two shopping stops.

That’s about 9.5 oz of alcohol if the shots were a Jigger size, That would probably, actually kill me.

The Tequilas were delicious as was the Margarita. 😁 We had originally booked a tour including shopping and changed it. We're not shoppers.

The shots were not jigger size, thankfully! 😁 They were more like a single swallow. A taste more than a full shot.

Rare mysty Posted January 10 Author #2037 Share Posted January 10 Yesterday we were in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. This is a tender port. There were 4 ships in the bay. All passengers were tendered. The largest ship was the Emerald Princess with about 5,000 passengers. It was a mad house. The Silver Shadow is the smallest ship on the extreme right. We took an excursion called Cabo's Land and Sea Panorama. It was billed as a 5 hour tour. However, we left the ship at noon and did not return until 7:00 pm. It was a very long day. First on the agenda was a cruise out to the famed Arches, also called Land's End. Next came a visit to The Glass Factory. Then on to a short stop at a hotel for a beverage and a beautiful lookout. This was followed by a trip to San Jose del Cabo. Lots of shops and restaurants and not much else. Here is the Mission Church there. Today is a sea day.
Rare mysty Posted January 11 Author #2038 Share Posted January 11 Today is another sea day. Rough seas and very chilly. Tomorrow is LA. We're going to hike to the Hollywood sign. Hopefully the weather cooperates. 😁

Rare mysty Posted January 13 Author #2041 Share Posted January 13 Today we were in Los Angeles. A face-to-face Immigration meet-up prior to heading out on our Hike to the Hollywood sign. About an hour after departure we arrived at the beginning of the trail. I really don't know what I was thinking when I booked myself on this tour. Myster did very well! I stopped after 1/3 of the trail and sat on a rock for 1.5 hours. The tour description mentioned inclines. I was imagining gentle ramp style inclines not ski slope inclines. Myster's photos will follow tomorrow. It's a sea day.

Rare mysty Posted January 14 Author #2049 Share Posted January 14 I suggested to the Shore Concierge staff this afternoon that a more detailed description of the inclines involved in the Hike to the Hollywood Sign would be helpful. They indicated that other guests had also suggested this. Hopefully this will help future passengers in determining whether the hike would work for them. On another note, the device used to lower the windscreens is broken. Dinner tonight at the Grill involved being swaddled in blankets. Hopefully they can retool the gizmo before we hit very chilly conditions.

Just what I would have thought you would wear, Mysty - elegant and simple and allowing for overindulgence at the same time. Let us know how the evening was especially the meal, please.
