MrsWaldo Posted February 22 #2351 Share Posted February 22 Just a thought, if the weather is bad, head across to Wynyard Tunnel which will take you into the city proper. Jump on a tram and alight at Queen Victoria Building (credit card tap on off on the platform) Catch light rail back down to Circular Quay for Museum of contemporary art or Sydney Opera House tour or possibly use google maps and the underground tunnels to walk across to Art Gallery NSW. There’s a great First Nations gallery. I had seriously considered getting onboard in Sydney and heading to HK, but work is making me wait until Singapore

Rare mysty Posted February 22 Author #2354 Share Posted February 22 The Silver Shadow just sailed under Harbour Bridge. With Eos' pink fingers providing a magical glow, it was a special treat!

Very sure-footed entry! Last night that would have meant I had only gotten 1/2 hour of sleep – instead of the 11 hours I did get by walking up at 3:30 pm. I guess my body is still adjusting to EST after the trip to the antipodes, but at least I'm getting my needed rest (on bat time). 2

Rare Host Jazzbeau Posted February 24 #2360 Share Posted February 24 You're lucky that Sydney was grey and rainy – beats HHH (hazy, hot and humid)!

Rare mysty Posted February 25 Author #2362 Share Posted February 25 Yesterday we were in Newcastle, Australia. We did the Historic Pub Crawl excursion. We visited 3 pubs and a brewery. In each location we had a choice of lager, pale ale, wine or soda. The guide told stories of the history of Newcastle that were very entertaining. First pub was the Lucky Hotel..... Next up was Bartholomew's where we also enjoyed nibbles with our beer..... Next was the brewery Foghorn where we had delicious pizza..... Lastly was Clarendon Hotel where there was live music..... We really enjoyed this excursion. 😁

Rare mysty Posted February 27 Author #2364 Share Posted February 27 Today we are in Brisbane, Australia. Sunrise photos of the sail in..... The excursion we had booked for Brisbane had been canceled due to the lack of interested participants. Since Myster had some back issues this morning we did not get off the ship. We had been here in 2019. Last night another Silversea gift was on our bed when we returned from dinner..... A cute little emu! 😁 Tomorrow we are in K'Gari (Fraser Island), Australia.

Rare mysty Posted February 27 Author #2375 Share Posted February 27 We're currently steaming toward K'Gari (formerly Fraser Island). Tender operations are scheduled for shortly after noon. Myster and I are booked on the Bush Tucker and Medicine walk with a Ranger. Should be interesting!
