danielleaviva Posted January 2, 2023 #1 Share Posted January 2, 2023 Was hoping for some advice. We're looking a Norwegian Escape New York to New York cruise (stopping at Newport, Rhode Island • Portland, Maine • Bar Harbor, Maine • Saint John (Bay Of Fundy), New Brunswick • Halifax, Nova Scotia). This cruise sails north, with ports each day and the final day is At Sea sailing back south. My instinct says a Port side cabin will give us better views (and that maybe for the last day At Sea we'll be sailing to far from the coastline to actually see anything), but wanted to confirm with someone who's done this itinerary (or close to it). Also, we are looking at the cabins in the front of the shop, with forward facing balconies, so actually - views might be similar from port or starboard? Any advice would be greatly appreciated - thanks in advance!
Rare 1025cruise Posted January 2, 2023 #2 Share Posted January 2, 2023 Doesn't make a bit of difference. Newport and Bar Harbor are tender ports. And you can't predict which way the ship will dock.

shipgeeks Posted January 3, 2023 #7 Share Posted January 3, 2023 IMO, no preference. You can't see land most of the time while in transit.

We look forward to approach of a Port and transit a Harbor. Even docked, if you face outside the Harbor or face the Port of Call. We enjoy facing Halifax and in Quebec the City proper.. serene56 Posted January 6, 2023 #9 Share Posted January 6, 2023 In my experience- each port the ship will face a different direction so one port will be port side the next port will be starboard

One placement makes the difference in departing from the dock. Backing out or departure straightforward. One Newport visit we did spin slowly till we were straight ready at end of day.
