It's been awhile since we have cruised with Celebrity. I know we used to get a certain number of free minutes per sailing with Elite. Can anyone tell me if that still exists or is it just a percentage off of a package discount now?

Yes it still exists, 90 mins free. I think you can use it to get a discount on a package if you want.  You will see the options when you go to connect the first time onboard.

90 mins Elite, 240 mins Elite+, both at the faster speeds. Or a discount on an unlimited package. Only of value if you book at Sail Only Rates (or casino comp) and in a cabin below Aqua Class - everything from Aqua and above now includes compolsary AI.

Last time I looked ( before Christmas) AI had been taken off Aqua Class.

But it’s back on. There were glitches in IT at the time.😱

Do you have to go to I lounge for Elite discount? I detest going there always understaffed and they keep terrible hours.

No you can (or should be able) to do it on your tablet. If you sign on with one account and  use those minutes first you will then be able to decide if you need to use your second lot as free minutes or as a discount on a full package. We have never used our 2 lots of free minutes.

I'm solo in my cabin on a 15 night TA in April with my sister in cabin beside me.  I know 90 minutes won't cover the entire cruise but how does the system cimpute the Elite discount by the day. Some days I won't need it especially when in Europe as I'm thinking I will just use my data from my phone provider.  Would anyone know the daily price for internet on ship? I just want for 8 sea days. Thanks very much.

You log in through the app. Quite simple as the option for using your free minutes is there to select

It's in minutes. Log on minutes start log out minutes stop. Depending on how you use your time you can get a lot of use.

We: prepare all emails off line and put in outbox. Log in and messages get sent at the sametime messages come in. As soon as all messages are in log out. Read messages once you are off line. Repeat twice a day ( we are on vacation replying morning and evening is sufficient). Share the package. Once your first minutes are used decide if you really need to buy a package for the rest of the cruise. If you do use your second Elite offer to get a discount by which time X could well be offering a cheaper price for the balance of the cruise. We found by sharing 2 x 90 minutes is more than we need. If you must send longer messages do it in ports using the free WiFi that is available almost everywhere (ok you may need to buy a coffee).

Thank you. That makes a lot of sense.  I don't bother that much with emails I'm retired and mostly use text but will communicate through what's app just need for my DH who's not on the cruise and my family.  I'm doing a lot of excursions in the various countries in Europe and possibly some tour busses have wifi onboard.  I'll just ration my minutes out and probably buy a package for sea days.  Like you said could be discounted offers onboard.

You can't have both a package and your Elite minutes on the same device at the same time and swop between them. When you first login it gives you the options of free minutes or a package discount. When the minutes are used you get the further options. It will be very clear once you log in (your account number for WiFi will be the number on your Sea Pass plus a password you create). The critical point is to make sure you log out everytime or your minutes will just vanish.

When I was on the Eclipse on May 11 nights Hawaii I had all inclusive plus my 90 Elite minutes and kept switching back and forth as Elite minutes I could post to social media but with the package it was just basic.  I'm familiar with how to do it. I kept the 90 minutes to call home through what's app. But this cruise is longer so 90 minutes won't be enough. I remember on Eclipse I had both plans on my phone.

Not how it was explained on Silhouette in May but sounds good. Of course paying the AI price still negates most of the Elite and even more of the Elite+ benefits. Fortunately the new pricing with AI being optional gives everyone the choice which is great news.

My 15 night TA was pretty expensive and I paid double occupancy so opted for cruise only but I will use wifi in the ports. Another option is to use my phone providers roam like home plan I just pay for each day I use it. I think it will work out cheaper as it gets added to my bill in CAD.   I'm very close to Elite plus so there's another benefit.

You should be able to get a discount on a package. I think that you have to take it for the duration of the cruise. It is more expensive if you take it by the day.  As an elite, I paid about $97 for a weeklong unlimited package. It was just for e-mail and web surfing....no movies or complicated use.
