Travel Insurance ncl

No travel insurance is direct pay. All travel insurance is reimbursement based.

Some policies do offer to discuss with a healthcare provider an ability of proof to be ability to pay, but that is up to each insurance company and completely up to the discretion of the medical facility.

(They are not going to do that for a $5K bill, only for a major medical situation)

If you're talking about missed flights, or needing an extra few nights in a hotel and meals, then the answer is no.

Medical evacuation is different though. Evacuation from the ship is free since it's done by a military search and rescue team. Medical evacuation from 1 hospital (only if you are an inpatient) to another ( not necessarily home, but to the nearest that is able to better treat you) will be coordinated by your insurance company and the doctors involved.

You might want to post your question on the Travel Insurance section of CC:

https://boards.cruisecritic.com/forum/499-cruisetravel-insurance/

It may also be helpful to browse some of the previous Q&A's to get a general feel about this.

Importantly, there isn't any single "standard insurance coverage".  The different policy types can vary dramatically, and some terms and conditions will be better for some, and other policies for other travelers, etc.

I'd suggest you CALL

https://TripInsuranceStore.com

They are a broker (no extra cost to the traveler), and deal with several vetted travel insurers, each of which typically have several different policies to offer.

Ask questions!  They are very patient.  And they'll probably ask you some, too, while trying to help you figure out what type of coverage will be best for you.  (They do not "upsell", so don't worry about that.)

Many of us here on CC have purchased policies from them.  We are among that group, and additionally, we'd had to make several claims, and all were paid without difficulties... and that's what really matters!

Can someone please tell me if the standard insurance coverage, covers  all emergencies with out prepayment  God Forbid or should we have secondary insurance at Alliance?

Since you have "NCL" in your thread title I'll assume you're asking about NCL's insurance. If that assumption is correct you should ask your question on the NCL board.
