Scotico Posted January 8, 2023 #1 Share Posted January 8, 2023 We are traveling with family who only speak spanish. Is there a way to request a waiter pre-check in who speaks spanish? It would make it a lot easier when ordering in the MDR.
Rare maysill88 Posted January 8, 2023 #2 Share Posted January 8, 2023 Try contacting the dining department at RCLDining@rccl.com prior to your cruise.

This was going to be my suggestion also. If you don't get a response from them, go to the dining room after boarding and talk to the Maitre D. He/she should be able to help you. I used it all the time at work when I didn't speak Russian, Polish, Spanish or Vietnamese.

But you should be able to match up with a spanish speaking waiter

Reminds me of when my husband has to translate with Italian for the rest of us when family would come over to visit. And actually I know they do this because people I used to work with were from Nicaragua and when they went on Royal years ago, they were able to get a spanish speaking waiter in the MDR. bonsai3s Posted January 8, 2023 #7 Share Posted January 8, 2023 Or...look at the menu in advance. It's on the app or ask for a real menu. * OP, you'll have fun translating...we always have fun telling kids what escargot is (french for)
neverbeenhere Posted January 8, 2023 #8 Share Posted January 8, 2023 (edited) Spanish speaking waiter, no problem. A speaker of the incredible Zulu language would be a tougher find. But there maybe someone on your ship. BTW: I’m fluent in Latin… sadly it’s for the isle of Swine. Edited January 8, 2023 by neverbeenhere
