LA Cruise port hotel recommendations

Hi, 

We are looking for a reasonable LA Cruise port hotel WITH shuttle service from LAX to hotel and hotel to cruise port. 

Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Which port, Long Beach or San Pedro? 

 

No hotel provides a shuttle...its 30-45 minutes, or more with traffic, and depending which port you are actually referring to. 

 

There are many threads here on hotels at both port areas.

We stayed at the Fairfield in El Segundo,  which had a free shuttle from LAX.  We took a Lyft to the port.  It was $33 including tip.

Thanks for your suggestions. 

It the San Pedro port. 

We found the Crown Plaza very close to the port and offers a shuttle to the port. 

Still looking at other options and suggestions.

Crowne Plaza and Doubletree by Hilton are the only two San Pedro hotels that anyone would recommend.

Both the Doubletree and Crown Plaza have shuttles to the port

NO hotel that has port shuttle has one from LAX

I realize that. El Segundo is close enough to LAX to have an airport shuttle. I am not aware of a hotel that has BOTH an airport and a cruise port shuttle,  it is too far (as you pointedout in your post). We have done this several times,  and flying into LAX it is easier to do the hotel shuttle and get a Lyft to port.

There is no hotel near San Pedro with a free shuttle to LAX.

 

The DoubleTree and Crown Plaza are both beautiful hotels with shuttle service to the port - you schedule your shuttle when you check in.  You can also walk from the CP.  The DT has a more beautiful park-like setting.

I do stay near LAX when I am leaving from LAX very early in the morning or arrive back very late at night. Other than that it is a very sucky area, with very few dining choices and not especially safe walking areas.

 

I'd head to the port and get a room at the Crowne Plaza or DoubleTree. Staying by LAX would be a last resort.

My soap and hand lotion at the DoubleTree was Westin-branded (not a Hilton partner). Wonder if they’re planning on rebranding soon, or just having supply issues?

Book a Cruise Line shuttle from LAX airport to the pier.  Good airport hotels, Westin, Hyatt, Crown Plaza, Marriott all offer free shuttle back and forth to LAX, get off at the Alaska airlines stop and you will be greeted by cruise personnel.
