How does HAL determine if the port is safe for passengers?

Again??  They had tourists stuck there two weeks ago and they airlifted some of them out then.  Did it reopen and shutdown again?

 

The problems near MP have been going on since the President was kicked out of office after trying to disband congress.

I feel so lucky that we got to Peru and Machu Picchu in 2019 on a land trip. Who knows when travelers will be able to safely go there again.

 

Also, St. Petersburg, we were there on a cruise in 2007 and took a private tour. Again who knows when cruises will go there again, if ever.

The main difference this time is the unrest is taking place in several cities.  There have been several times over the past decade or so where access to MP has gotten blocked.  Usually by the locals putting big rocks on the train tracks.  Because the train is pretty much the only way to get there it is an easy way to create a well publicized incident.
